Soccer is the biggest joke on the planet.

Let's all play a "friendly."

Michael Sam likes soccer.

I would rather the GOAT, LeBron James, get six rings than either of the things in the OP.

It is not the biggest joke on the planet. You are gay. You like sucking dick. You bleach your a-hole.

Actually most of the world does. You probably don't see much outside of your little southern bubble though

World Cup, not even close

the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA wins vs a college football team. Besides, it's once every 4 years.

I could just win the natty 3 out of 4....

....oh wait.

Honestly, USA- I've seen Florida, win titles, post-Muschamp I'll see Florida win titles again but the US winning a World Cup-- man, that'd be crazy and the reaction both nationwide (basically everyone under 35 watches the World Cup a lot) and internationally (especially given a lot of elite soccer athletes play other sports) would be awesome.

Lolno.

I've been out of the country. That doesn't mean I have to respect that joke of a "sport."

Not my fault you like to watch gay dudes run around while pretending you're more cultured than people who don't like watching gay dudes run around.

I'd rather the US never qualify ever again for a world cup for a Georgia national title. Hell, I'd do that for them to just make the game.

What does not liking soccer have to do with the south?

People would care about winning the World Cup for 2 weeks then forget about. Winning the national title in football is remembered forever

I'm not a big soccer fan at all but I realize and appreciate the magnitude of the world cup. It would mean a lot to the people of this country for us to win for the first time ever. Just a handful of rednecks and school alums get pleasure out of a NCAAF championship. Maybe I'm just not that selfish

World Cup

A NC is bragging rights in the SEC, since we always win the NC.....well, except for last year. Thanks Auburn.

World Cup though is bragging rights in the entire world. Happens only once every 4 years, but are remembered forever.

So a sport that means nothing to America?

As opposed to a sport that is the most or second most popular sport in America?

Yeah, I can see how you would be confused by such a choice.

Not sure you can say that anymore about World Cup Soccer-- its getting better ratings than the NHL or NBA Finals and within some NFL cities better ratings than games by the Home team.

I just don't get why every four years we have to pretend to respect the biggest, and excuse me for lack of eloquence, pussy excuse for a sport since golf.

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO COMPETE AGAINST ANYTHING.

Think about it. What does it have to compete with? BASEBALL

No prime time programming, no reality TV nonsense, etc.

World Cup. I've seen UA win three nattys. If the US is winning the World Cup it would probably never happen again in my lifetime. Bama will surely win 6-12 more titles while I'm alive.

This was my answer as a Florida fan as well-- I think its different if you're a fan of a team that doesn't win national titles often/ever-- if you're a Georgia or Ole Miss fan its a whole different thing than an Alabama, Florida or LSU fan.

pretty sure the opposite is true.

Every one of those players would be national heroes and since it would probably be 50 years till we win another, we'd probably talking about till our nonexistent social security is supposed to kick in.
