LOL All this wasted time and AU butthurt, and all Updyke gets is basically 55 more days in jail.

The jail isn't the bad part. He will be a convicted felon for life and will lose his voting rights and firearm rights. And I hope he's comfortably retired because no one will want to hire him.

Society wins. I also HIGHLY doubt this is the effect that will be the "bad" part for him.

You do know he's like 70 years old, right. He ain't working.

He doesn't care about voting. You think he even knows where the closest voting booth is? Nope.

All he is is bout that TIDE. And that's it.

The guy is a mental case and what he did is so sick; he is the cautionary tale for all of us who love our teams, even those of us who actually attended our team's schools. If you have 15/20k posts in 3 months and/or stay in a thread for days arguing with obvious idiots, you might just have too much [fill in the blank] in you.

I imagine most cops in Texas to be exactly like Updyke.

He'll never make it outta there alive. All the Aubie thug cons in the place will be looking to take him out and make a name for themselves.

No doubt Pettway will hold him down while Williams and Hayes wrap him in prison toilet paper until he suffocates.

Not sure about owning a gun but in Alabama he can vote after he serves his time.

From a voting rights web page....

Alabama - Some persons convicted of a felony may apply to have their vote restored immediately upon completion of their full sentence. Those convicted of certain felony offenses such as murder, rape, incest, sexual crime against children, and treason are not eligible for re-enfranchisement.

Seems like a reasonable appropriate sentence, but I doubt we have heard the end of Uodyke.
