This guy shouldn't even serve jail time. He should be given a year's worth of probation plus a heavy, heavy fine.

This case is a waste of the state's time and money.

I am no Updyke supporter. The guy is a mentally disturbed person who has some serious anger issues. There is nothing on this earth that could possess me with enough anger to drive all the way to Auburn to poison the Toomer's trees. But to act as if what he did is worth THIRTEEN YEARS is pretty heinous and stupid. That's what the DA wanted to give him. THIRTEEN YEARS for poisoning two trees. People who commit murder sometimes serve for less.

Let me guess, Auburn having a bad day or football season. Need to blame someone, rattle off a few playground names and then feel better about themselves. That cover it?

And Bama fans are accused of not being able to keep things in perspective.

ESPN reported it. Until you can post a link denying said report I'm just going to go ahead and take their word for it.

I think you will find a lot of AU and UA fans who feel the way he expressed in his post.

The da said no offer was ever made, updykes attorney said no offer was made and look at the supposed offer. 13 years, which was the number of bama championships, and not to attend bama games, what do you think a lee co da is concerned with bama games for? And reported as a source said it. Do you also think espn reports only facts

I seem to recall a large event several years back where we crossed paths.

I think he is in with the Fed PD office now.

Link? And I think the fact that no plea deal has been offered just shows you how much of a farce this case is. He should be put on probation and heavily fined.

I think the saddest thing about Harvey is the anger and hatred he brings up in the Auburn fan base.

Samething could be seen in LSU fans in todays thread regarding the tea-bagger - hate and anger.

The fear that Alabama will continue winning leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

1) I didn't make the avatar, an Auburn fan did: LINK

2) I didn't even know it was Harvey Updyke until recently. That tells you how much he and his exploits interest me.

As does any legal matter.. a simple felony takes a year sometimes longer to be resolved.
