Pettway admitted involvement in the crime according to depositions filed by UA police officers. The degree of Pettway's involvement remains unknown, however he was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery. Due to his youthful offender status, the outcome of the case remains unknown.
A quick question in regard to your "link"...why can't I bring it up on my PC?...why does it contradict Williams's statement?

Linebacker Tyler Hayes, 18, and safety Eddie Williams, 20, confessed to robbing a student who was punched in the head and face and kicked in the ribs and back early Monday morning, according to court documents. Williams said D.J. Pettway, 20, a defensive lineman, and Hayes waited in a nearby vehicle about an hour later while he knocked out and robbed another student. Williams and Hayes both admitted to their involvement, according to the documents.
Williams and running back Brent Calloway, 20, both admitted to using a stolen credit card to buy snacks from vending machines inside a dormitory, the documents said. All four students were indefinitely suspended by coach Nick Saban.
Does anybody want to contradict this?
Quick question, do you comprehend bro?

Coach, just some friendly advice here so do with it what you will, but it is time to stop digging the hole.
The link goes to PDFs on the Tuscaloosa news site. They're district court documents created when they were first charged. The narrative is the same for all defendants, stating each defendant physically attacked and robbed the victim.
The plain truth is the only people who know the full level of Pettway's involvement are those that committed the robbery. Even the victim doesn't remember precise details after the first (Williams) punch.
Having said that, based on the victim's statements and police reports, Pettway's involvement in the first robbery was more than waiting in the car. Maybe he hit or kicked the guy, maybe he just went through his pockets, maybe he just stood there and watched.
No matter what his exact level of participation, he was without a doubt right there on the spot and actively involved. There's simply no reason to deny that they were out thugging and he went right along with the plan. It is fundamentally no different than not being the guy with the gun when some guys rob the convenience store.

I have no problem with what you state in your post, but what I'm disputing is the statement that Pettway actually assaulted the victim himself. I realize that if you're present during the commission of a crime, then you will be charged as well, but according to Williams' statement and the others things I've read and been told by a TPD cop, he didn't actually hit either guy. Also, I wasn't very happy with his reinstatement either, but I figure Saban knows what he's doing.

JaQuay Williams to Louisville.
Mike Dyer, Shaq Wiggins, JaQuay Williams, Zeke Pike, and Josh Harvey-Clemons all to Louisville... I think we have our definite "Second Chance U" now.
