and who had old Lache committed to before darting out to Oregon?
BTW, what has he done to be considered a thug? You mentioned him in the same breathe as Zeke Pike and Mike Dyer. While I'm on subject, I wouldn't even call Zeke Pike a thug, more so a dumbass.

Nothing...coach is a grouchy old man. Best to ignore him.

quote:I've already called you out on this in another thread, Peanut. Get the story straight before spewing your bullshite. Again, Eddie Williams did the crime, not Pettway...and while we're at it, NOBODY was seriously injured, much less "almost beat to death". Man, please.
Alabama is the worst because DJ Pettway is far and away worse than any player Auburn or any other SEC school has taken. DJ Pettway absolutely should be in prison for his crimes and it is unbelievable that he is playing college football for Alabama or anybody else

quote:You are absolutely right, TT. Lache hadn't officially committed, but the word was that he was in Auburn's pocket (pun intended). Lastly, I mentioned him only because his name was brought up in another post on this thread, and I thought it odd that so many kids with Auburn connections were coming up....I also agree with you about Pike being a dumbass.

Weren't Nick Marshall and Cam Newton cleared of all charges?
I don't think Marshall was ever charged with a crime. Richt kicked him off the team and that probably satisfied the victims.
Cam wasn't cleared as in acquitted. He was granted admittance to a pretrial diversion program. He successfully completed it so the charges were dropped.
DJ Pettway's situation is similar to Cam's. He didn't get pretrial diversion, but he did get granted Youthful Offender status - meaning that the incident doesn't appear on his criminal record.
FWIW, I have a serious problem with Pettway being allowed to return to Alabama. I don't have a problem with him getting a second chance, but IMO it should not be at the same university where he was involved in robberies involving the use of force.

I know the story/truth very well. The kid never touched or hit anyone but was in the car when Williams did the crimes. Williams was the real thug and had completely jumped the reservation that weekend and had been arrested the day before for having an unregistered weapon in the trunk of his car after police were called on him for causing a disturbance at a Zippy Mart in Tuscaloosa....probably figured that he was toast with Saban after the weapons charge.
For what it's worth, I don't disagree with the post just above this. Seemingly, he should have played with another school, but there must be something else that influenced Saban to make the not-popular decision to let him back in. I know his coaches at Catholic H.S. in Pensacola pretty well and, to the man, they couldn't believe he'd been involved...go figure.

except for the police reports and and the others direct statements.
But I was referring to your post in this thread and the vast majority of your post. Like I said, maybe you should follow your own advice

From al.com:
quote:
According to arrest warrants, Pettway, Williams and Hayes attacked and robbed two UA students in two separate incidents. The trio came away with a laptop, cash, a UA student action card and various credit and debit cards. Calloway and Williams each used the action card to purchase snacks from a Bryant Hall vending machine.
