Tennessee is going to be another victim of ESPN ranking a team that hasn't done shite, but ends up top 10 again. Happens every year and that team usually implodes.

I don't see how FSU and Michigan are that high OU and LSU would wreck both of those teams. Naturally A&M should not even be ranked.

You may be right, but how the hell could you know this? You don't think FSU/LSU and Michigan/OU would be warranted top 10 like matchups?

The A&M Theorem works like this: start off ranked at the bottom of the top 25 or just outside of it, beat an early opponent that is wildly over-rated, vault into the top 10, top 5 maybe, based only on that one win, get beat by a team that was always better and would've been favored had we not become overrated due to the early win, suffer a crises of confidence, and then implode for the rest of the season.

Just do the complete opposite and you have Arkansas

I'm more pessimistic this year than most. I'm not sure LSU is a top 10 team. I hope I'm wrong.

Butch Jones is something like 22-20 in one possession games as a coach.

He definitely isn't a clutch coach but I don't think is some major liability like the couple of collapses made him look like last year.

I had a feeling going into last year with our youth we'd struggle early and not be "ready for the moment". I think a lot of that had to do with the roster as much as the coaching (which was obviously bad in spots).

Long story short is I think with a veteran, talented team this year we could see that trend not continue into this season.

Get in a time machine , go forward or backwards in time to 10 or 20 years and UGA will be ranked 12th or close to it everytime. Either these pollsters are lazy and just put the bulldogs their on reputation alone or UGA is just your average team not expected to do much but needed to be mentioned.

You do realize that over that same period of time UGA has finished at or above their preseason ranking more often than not, don't you?

No? I didn't think so.

A South Carolina fan saying Georgia is just an average team that isn't expected to do much?

9 wins last year with a young team that very easily could've won 11.

And, you could have easily lost two more, too, right?

Clemson will be good because of their QB and possibly even a playoff team because of the ACC but they essentially lost their whole defense

Tough to rank them #1 because of it

I would normally agree...but Clemson lost most of their defense to begin last year and they ended up being even stronger than the year before. Probably won't happen 2 years in a row but if their defense is even somewhat close to what it was last year, then they'll be tough to beat, especially with their offense. Their offense is pretty much returning intact, along with 2 of their best WRs that missed the end of the season last year, Williams (injury) and Cain (suspension)...has the potential to put up some pretty obscene numbers...

With what we're losin', I could see Clemson being rated ahead of Bama and at #1...I could actually see us being 3 or 4 spots lower...but until Saban leaves/retires, Bama will probably be projected near the top every season...

I think Michigan is highly overrated due to ESPNs love fest with harb, and FSU did nothing last year to warrant a top 5 ranking this year. LSU is a fringe top 12 team and would beat both FSU and Michigan. OU has a backfield and QB that would put up 40+ on both FSU and Michigan.

You guys are loaded. The only question mark I see is at QB, and I do believe Harris will improve a bit.

Of those 9 wins: N. Texas, VU, UK, Miz, SCAR, UGA, BGSU, WC, and NW.one quality win. You lost every other game of importance. How many more years are you guys going to be young? Its been 3 years so far.

Literally no excuses this year for Tennessee.

Florida is breaking in a new QB - which will probably be a walk on starter.
Missouri, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech have new coaches.
Kentucky and Vanderbilt are still really bad.
Alabama is at Home and TAMU isn't scaring anyone.

They only have 4 true road games, and 1 of those @ Vandy and the other @ South Carolina, who had a combined 7 wins last year. TAMU and UGA are the hardest road games, and TAMU is average at best and Georgia has a new coach.

UT has the most experienced QB in the division, a mature OL, the deepest DL they have had in years, impact players at all levels of their defense, and experienced secondary, one of the best RB tandems in the conference, and they have the longest tenured coach in the SEC east right now.

If they can't win 10 regular season games with this schedule and that roster, they might not ever win 10 regular season games again. Ever.

Still don't know if they deserve to be #10 in the country though.

This can't be right, can it? I mean, not a walk on. I mean, I would think Treon and Felipe would be better than a walk on.
