directed at me, baw? there's no pretend to it. Saban's quotes make it clear that he wants the kid back. The fact that he isn't getting the playing time or rotation time he wants is obvious to anyone with knowledge of the practice/scrimmage reps.

Have fun with the accusations though.

(BTW - I liked you better when you weren't so snarky all the time and you seemingly appreciated the fact that not all posters are trying to troll, pretend insider, etc.)

I was referring to when you said he had entitlement issues and was scared of competition. You don't know this kid in real life.

Sorry you don't like me as much these days. It's been something else watching the bama lynch mob lately when it comes to these kids who are either transferring or rumored to be considering it.

There was a rumor yesterday he had a family emergency. Maybe that was accurate.

ETA: Rumor was posted by a guy on our board who is friends with a WR on the team.

Pretty convenient for a "source" to appear to galvanize his opinions on players when they were treading water.

Perhaps "scared" is the wrong choice of words, but coming from a buddy in football ops, Kendall has straight up used how he was ranked out of HS as a statement of why he should play "I was one of the top DBs in the country man. you don't think I'm good enough to play all of a sudden?". That sounds like entitlement to me.

I don't. I know two people in our football ops and consider myself friendly enough with each to believe them when they say something. I also know that he's a young kid and I would probably have been entitled somewhat too at his age and in his shoes. Not meant as a character attack so much as a statement of his mindset.

I didn't say I don't like you bruh. You're good people. I just said I liked you more at a different point in time. There was a time when our communication was much more focused on real issues that matter (like family, and fires, and life changing events) and less on snide interactions about 18-22 year olds.

Really, truth be told, most Bama fans on the Mo Smith issue didn't have a problem with the kid leaving. Not to sound horrible, but it wasn't a massive loss to the team. I think most Bama fans under truth serum would say that their responses in threads about Mo Smith were more from a position of defending the coach, program, and the right to deny transfer within conference (though, admittedly, I'm sure some - myself included - were irritated that he/his mom mitigated the situation in the press).

You've got to remember, though, we've had like 5-7 kids leave every year for the past several years. You usually don't hear much about it and Bama fans usually wish the kid luck (like Dee Hart, Becker-Burgess, etc). It's been different this time primarily b/c of the Smith situation.

I think just about every kid who is a 4 star or better leans on that high school ranking. They tout it all over social media.

Obviously if you have legitimate sources from within th program, it changes things. I've just seen a lot of assumptions being made the last few weeks and think it's a shame.

I'll concede a bit and say the manner in which Smith's mother was involved was really asking for it. At some point you have to grow up and get your parents out of your business. Especially when you're a college graduate.

Saban must be going soft. Just letting the kid decide if he wants to be on the team???

I'd tell him he can either have his arse at practice tomorrow or pack his shite and leave

This will certainly bring out the best in the tigers here. I guess we've moved from "who" to everyone knowing the kid personally.

Sounds like the kid is just very confused about what he wants to do. He needs to man up one way or the other.

Agree. He needs to go JUCO and then head to UGA in 2017.

You are right. We need better players than the ones we have.
