I don't think LSU got outbid for Herman.

They were never really in contention.

They just got used/played.

I think we pulled out in time to not get played completely, but that was our planned role. That's why I don't get anger towards AD in this case.

Your constant 24/7 LSU butt hurt is always entertaining. Thank you for that.

People are angry at the AD because you fired Les Miles to hire a D-Line coach that no other Power 5 school was interested in hiring.

i sometimes think that when lsu decided they weren't going to overpay herman, they knew herman would try to come steal his old college roommate in aranda for dc. given the coaching turmoil in br this year, they knew out of anyone on staff they did not want to lose, it would be aranda. therefore it made sense to keep coach o, at a lower price tag, to leave enough funds to give aranda a hefty raise to stay.

Yahtzee, bingo, hello!

I don't know how much you've really read up on the situation, but I don't think what you said is accurate.

LSU was certainly in contention. Herman told Alleva that he was coming, then later said he wanted to hear Texas' offer. Alleva no longer trusts Herman nor does he think Herman is a man of his word. Therefore Alleva hired Orgeron.

Now we can debate if Alleva should have let the Herman situation play out or if Orgeron was the best guy for the job, but to say LSU wasn't in contention for Herman is not accurate.

The article said UT isn't bringing Applewhite back. You're saying that's a mistake?

Applewhite had to leave UT before for having an inappropriate realtionship with a trainer IIRC. He's not coming because he's not welcome I suspect

How is that DB coach working out for you guys?

You realize every HC was once a position coach, right?

I was probably top 10 Miles supporter. It was time to move.

The apparent lack of coaching search angered fans

I was specifically talking in terms of Herman

LSU already agreed to increase Aranda to 2 mill per year, Texas will have to bring it if they want him. Also putting 2 up for the OC i believe.

Yup.. ties into the bigger issue/Bev Kearney lawsuit with the University.

Major is almost certainly a no go in Austin.

I hear Ed Zaunbrecker is free for OC duties. Ron Zook is still amped as ever to be DC.

Good luck LSU.

ONE SEMESTER.

Not even a whole year. Just ONE SEMESTER.

FYI Orgeron and Aranda are even tighter than herman and aranda.

Herman getting blowback for lying to UH players and a lot of people also think Strong should have had more time.

Not exactly a honeymoon.
