Don't get me wrong I want it to happen for personal reasons and they don't involve the thunder.

Absolutely zero chance he'd make that move. LMAO.

You realize he has his entire team coming back next year and was a 3 seed this year?

Why would he take the Florida job? Zero connection to Florida and it isn't a destination job. It's basically Arkansas in the 90s with a shitty arena and worse fan base.

ISU sells out their 16-17k building and he's from freakin' ames.

Hoiberg would only leave for the NBA or a destination college job. Not to mention he has a heart condition. Keep trying though gaytah.

I don't think its possible to do it twice with no experience. After you did it once, you have experience....
But true, he did do it.

No denial I think Donovan is going and I have no hard feelings. IMO, he is the best Gator coach to ever step on campus and he has earned this opportunity.

Goddammit some of you gator fans are about as fun as a pet rock.

He's a great coach. You could argue maybe second only to Rupp in SEC history. He took a program that despite a good/great year here and there was fairly average, and turned them into a championship level powerhouse for nearly 20 years. From an outsider's perspective though, he really looked frustrated and just tired of the college game this year. Certainly anyone who was in the midst of their worst year in a long time would feel that way, but he just seemed completely aggravated an out of it on the sidelines.

Still, I don't think he was necessarily "looking" to leave UF. But this isn't a struggling Orlando franchise that has to be rebuilt. He would become the HC for a franchise that should be one of the favorites to win the NBA title next season (and possibly for years to come). If he ever thought about going to the NBA again, I doubt he would ever get a better immediate situation to jump into

Lol no.

How can you know this? Florida is not a blue blood basketball program. And I don't think Donovan had built them up enough to sustain success without a good coach.

I think it's going to happen, isn't recruiting still going on? He would have squashed this with quickness if he wasn't leaving.

Pelphrey would become Arkansas' fans worst nightmare because he would succeed at UF

Arizona post-Lute Olsen. Very similar situation, shows it is possible to continue at a high level. Hell, there is even a decent chance we could be bringing in a Miller brother as well.
