I guarantee one thing, Donovan would not leave if he felt the program was in bad shape. He knew we needed some rebuilding after 2007, that was one of the major reasons he changed his mind on the Magic.

No he changed his mind because he's a douche scum like the rest. If he knew they needed a rebuild why did he accept the fricking job?

And boo frickin' hoo about losing close games. Arkansas was a few close games away from a 2 seed or whatever blah frickin' blah.

you guys sucked arse this year with a bunch of talent. At least call it like it is. Plenty of coaches have dealt with that kind of adversity and made the something of their season.

I don't see Mizzou fans making excuses about sucking ballz this year.

Huh?

SEC basketball is about to be the strongest its been in a decade and you're about to lose your coach.

I'd be butt hurt too if I knew John Pelphrey or Anthony Grant were about to step in.

Yeah, no denying we sucked arse. For as much success as UF has had in 20 years, I can't complain.

But acting like UF can't rebound next season is dumb, even if Donovan leaves.

He is one of the good guys in coaching.

Yea if you are a failed head coach and previously coached under him.

Not if you're an NBA gm and expect him to stick with his word/the contract he agreed to.

Since when is going back on your word a "good guy" thing to do?

He's in the same caliber as Pitino, Calipari and the rest. He did win a shite ton of games though, I'll give him that, just get fed up with the holier than thou crap with BD.

Most fans realize he is gone sooner rather than later. His interest in the NBA is no secret, and it's only a matter of him finding the right fit. I can't blame him for seeking to further his career with a new challenge.

What will be disappointing is my expected Foley hire...

I know a lot of people are throwing out Grant/Pelphrey but those guys won't be getting the first calls.

Personally, I'd want Foley to go after Hoidberg at ISU, if he doesn't bolt for the Bulls in the NBA after they let go of Thibs.

So why can't Florida be Tennesee if they'd like? I mean you get to be a troll and all.

I think Foley probably goes after Archie Miller. Fits the Foley mold, think there is a good chance he is our next coach.

He will not be met with a great outpouring of support from the fans, a lot of them don't understand why Brooks is gone. They almost mad the playoffs without Durant for most of the season, Westbrook was out for a month and they turned over a lot of the team during the season. Even the talking heads on the radio think was a dumb move and that bringing in a college coach that will take a year or so to get acclimated will cost them Durant and Westbrook.

Steve Kerr took a loaded roster in his first HC gig to the best record in the NBA.

No reason Donovan can't do the same.

Donovan runs an NBA system. Durant, Ibaka, Westbrook, Kanter, Morrow, Lamb, Collison, Augustine, etc...

That is a loaded roster. Plus, Donovan has a ton of coaching experience.
