Incorrect. South Carolina was 20th I'm pretty sure. We were in danger of falling out of the Top 25 because we had lost to Tennessee the week prior.

We saw what Mizzou was in the 1 quarter theyf aced a decent team that was anywhere near full strength (even though the QB was still only about 60%). Mizzou may lose this weekend, they will def lose next weekend and regardless of what happens in the IB this isn't even a discussion.

Mizzou will not beat both Ole Miss and TAMU. in fact they may lose them both.

Gus took a broken team and fixed it in his first year.

Lock of the year is Gus as COY.

up to this point........Gus. That's not just SEC COY. That's also national COTY. There is still ball left to be played though.

The outcome of the Iron Bowl is irrelevant from this standpoint. Gus gets COTY win or lose next Saturday. Best turnaround ever of an SEC team from one year to the next.

Gus.

Not everyone is badass enough to beat Aggy. Gus somehow managed to pull this off, and Pinkel will not have such luck. That, and only that, is the deciding factor

Even.

Gus gets it if he beats Bama. Pinkel gets it if Gus doesn't beat Bama and Mizzou makes it to the SECCG.

Agreed. Can't call it either way just yet.

Oh, and OP? I wish Mizzou was 7-5 last year, but it was 5-7 without a bowl game. That makes Pinkel's job performance this season that much more impressive.

Has to be Malzahn. They were a complete wreck last year, whereas Missouri had bad luck with injuries.

If I had to choose, I'd have to go with Pinkel.

No one in this conference does more with less, taking into account the recruiting rankings over the past 5 years.

Many nega-tigers on this board wanted him fired around this time last year. Bad jumbo.

To think that Pinkel was on the hot seat when the season began.....

I agree although I'd rate the body of work by both coaches close. If AU beat Bama, I'd give it to Malzahn, but that ain't happening.

Gus. He has done this in his first year, in the SEC West and only his second as a HC. GP has been running his system with his players, at the same school, for 12 years and in his 22nd year as a HC.

10-2 in the West, in your first year with a 3-9 team would still be more impressive than 11-1 in the East, in your 2nd year in the SEC and 12th year with a 7-5 team.

It would take Bama beating Auburn and Missouri beating OM and A&M and beating Bama in the SECCG for PK to win. If Missouri doesn't make it to the SECCG or does and loses to the same Bama team that beat Auburn, PK won't win it.

Thank you. That's what people are forgetting. He's doing shite with a bunch of 1-3* recruits, not in a big recruiting power state, etc. His offense is putting up good numbers on defenses and his defense playing good. People forget the type of players Mizzou have, not many big name recruits coming out of High School. They've made names for themselves at Mizzou. Will have a good batch making it to the NFL.

Regardless of what happens the rest of the way and not counting the years they have been coaching, at worst 10-2 in the West would still be more impressive than 11-1 in the East.

Auburn still have better recruits right? Can Gus do the same at Mizzou with lesser talent, doubt it. Auburn is not far removed from a National title, not hard to get 4-5* players there. Plus have a better recruiting base right in your back yard and neighboring states.

Mizzou basically get the scraps that's left over after all the big time programs snatch up the recruits. To do with Mizzou is doing is damn good no matter what BCS conference/division you're in. Mizzou been doing it for years. Going back to the old Big 8 days, players that couldn't get in at Mizzou because of tough admissions and academic standards left the state to go to K-State, OU, Nebraska, Colorado, etc. That's a known fact. Read about it in a couple of books. But Mizzou still have a decent college football program.... doing with lesser talent.

Ding ding. That's what people forget. Mizzou don't have the history, national titles, big recruiting base, big names, etc. Auburn is expected to compete. LSU, Georiga, Florida, TAMU, BAMA, Mississippi Schools, etc are expected to do good with all the talent down south, big signings on recruiting days, etc.
