This is why so many future NFL DLinemen come out of South Carolina .... because so many teams run the ball here.

It's also why we almost never produce great throwing QBs here. The last one was .... hell, I dunno. Maybe Steve Fuller outta Spartanburg back in the early 70s. Tony Rice was not. Neither was Goldson at ND. Dylan Thompson outta Boiling Springs was I guess ... but Spurrier developed him more than anything. Phil Petty was outta Boiling Springs too but he was only serviceable ... not great.

We do produce our share of good RBs though ... although nothing like Georgia does.

You people are retarded. Most high-schools, even in SEC country, run the fricking spread and up tempo. This isn't specific to Texas. It would be rare to find a high-school that doesn't do it.

And I find it funny a bammer started this thread considering that aTm, AU and Ole Siss have been a thorn in Saban's side with their "high-school" offenses. This caused Saban to go off and complain publicly about tempo "killing the game" and saying "that's not football." Then he runs out and hires Kiffen and instructs him to install a tempo offense. It's pretty fricking hilarious. If any other coach had went out and cried like a baby to the press how "it's not fair" they would have been crucified.

Bammer wins not because other teams run "high school" offenses, but they win because their roster is the best paid professional roster in CFB. It's easy to win when every player on the roster is a 5 star recruit driving a new Dodge Charger and moving their mommas into new houses paid for by the REC (a la Rent Richardson). I could coach that shite and win.

This post is fricking priceless coming from an Auburn fan. From Vandy, it would be one thing. But y'all are dirtier than Lindsay Lohan's snatch. So get off your high horse, and focus on Gus' Super Bowl. This has been a good thread till you had to troll.

I'm genuinely curious when a little 8 school will ever win it

If I were a Uga fan I wouldn't be talking shite about little 8. You're program is on the edge of losing big 6 status. 2 sec titles in 30+ years?

Pretty sure the trend towards spread, HUNH, high powered offenses, etc. isn't just limited to Texas, at all. I don't even think it is more prominent there than the rest of the country.

What's sad is you really believe this. LSU could never throw a pass and beat A&M.

Bull fricking shite you genetically inferior waste of human flesh. LSU will have to throw the ball if they want to win. Maybe not a lot, but at least 20 times.

I agree to some extent. And I think we'll see chief look out of state to full some deficiencies on defense. Really happy with the lb committed from tennessee.

Tamus weak spot is the linebacking corp. It's piss poor at the moment and has been for quite some time. Their front 7 has improved markedly and their secondary is better than most.

The real issue is the culture of Texas high school football itself. No matter if the local school emphasises offense or defense the kids that play the games are local celebrities. They are given grades, given pussy, and have all these adults they aren't even related to try to live vicariously through them (as if they were in college). For a lot of these guys they are made to feel like they "made it" before they play a snap in college because tens of thousands of people come to games in nicer stadiums than a lot of college programs have.

So they come to college without hunger, or good discipline, or even the will to push themselves to win. If they cared about winning they did it in high school. College is simply the thing they have to do before the NFL will draft them. This leads to entitlement and laziness, which then get misinterpreted as "finesse" or "charmin soft" when Texas teams play across the country.

all of this. and this is problem a lot of kids face, not just from texas, when they get to college. they've always been treated like royalty and can't handle the pressure when they're just another face in college. however, texas puts much more emphasis on high school football than anywhere else, so naturally this sense of entitlement is more rampant

Doubt it. the reason they played bama close is because kiffen insisted on passing.

Because they quit running it effectively. Half of their 2nd half yards came on a Coker scramble.

You forgot about the annual LSU game. It's okay. Most of us just assume LSU wins too and forget about that game.
