Exactly! You don't even have to get rid of Dye. You just need a coach that isn't afraid to tell the PTB to but the hell out

Ain't gonna happen. Too many old timers down there that worship Dye. My Dad is 72 and will tell you in a second Pat Dye was, is and will always be the best coach Auburn ever had. Dye single handedly took down Buster Brown. Read a story where during the 93 coaching search, the morning of the pres conference Dye, Chris Woods, Bob Lowder were in a small huddle talking. Housel said that's when he found out Bowden would be the coach. Literally 30 minutes before the press conference.

I dont follow the situation too closely but what does Dye have to do with Auburn's lack of success?

Dye doesn't have the clout within the program anymore . He is like the old Uncle, people respect him due to his past, but they do not make decisions based on his advice.
