If I were ATM, I'd let them wallow in the bed they made.

This.
frick Texas. I think most people here would understand why this won't fly if their team had shared conference affiliation with these guys in the past. Texas is toxic.

As a serious response

A&M is kind of a bland national brand. Money, major state, respected, but bland.

I expect there is a contingent that doesn't care if A&M becomes a more high profile name in college athletics, but to the extent that is the goal, restoring the rivalry and exhibiting some dominance over arguably the biggest brand in NCAA athletics has to be valuable.

I find it hilarious that the ONLY people who don't want the game to come back is a few nutless Aggies. They have no balls and are equipped with manginas.

Building a program that is consistently competitive in our own conference will get us further along in that area than bringing back this game.

No offense to their current students or their alumni, but their dumbass AD needs to sleep in the bed they made.

Not interested in participating in a longhorn hype fest that ESPN is contractually obligated to provide them as part of the LHN deal.

Overall? Probably, if A&M can really compete for SEC titles. But going 8-4 or 9-3 in a conference stacked with major programs is fine and solidifies your place here, but it doesn't advance the cause I'm talking about. But we're comparing participation in a conference vs. a single game.

Meanwhile, Texas would always be a high profile game and would grab attention regardless of what A&M was doing in the SECW in a given year. From a marketing perspective, there is no question it would help. Now, whether you care about that is your own (A&M fans') option.

As a fan of CFB I want to see the game come back, of course.

Why is Aggie scared of Texas?

Not sure why anyone would think we are. Truth is Ags and Longhorns are split about 50/50 in wins & losses since the early 70s.

Not sure anyone gives 2 shits about what happened from 1896 to 1935 when Texas won about everything. Well no one but you history buffs...

The funny thing is I think it'd help the Ags recruit better. Battle of Texas would be an awesome atmosphere for recruits to be on the sideline and hopefully come to play in the SEC rather than Big12.

that isn't close to being the truth

When A&M and UT played, it was almost never a nationally relevant game. No one outside of Texas watched that game. Whem A&M was winning in 2012 and 2013, we were one of the most watched programs in the country

If A&M is winning, we will be playing in nationally relevant games regardless. If we are losing, no one will care

I'd rather schedule Clemson. That gets recruits' attention. Glad we have that on the schedule.

Our schedule is already full, so we just can't accomodate requests from every school that wants to play us.

The main reason I don't want it back is I don't want our OOC schedule going to Texas plus 3 shite schools. I have enjoyed seeing us play schools like UCLA and ASU the last few years and look forward to taking two Ls from Clemson the next two years, and playing ND down the road. I've been to several UT-A&M games, seen us play in Austin, etc. It just isn't a novel or cool thing for me at all. Getting to go to the Rose Bowl, Clemson, and South Bend and see those teams play at Kyle is.

If we would guarantee playing another P5 team every year along with Texas I would be fine with it coming back. But I doubt that would happen

There would be a lot more pressure in the state to bring it back if both teams were at least decent. We have been mediocre post Manziel and Texas has waffled between shitty and mediocre. Both fan bases are largely apathetic right now

Haha, so your argument is because A&M had good audiences when you had a generational and controversial player, it definitely wouldn't help your brand to play one of the biggest programs in college football on a yearly basis?

Ok dude
