That was a common them in the student newspaper when I was in school. I think we still have well over 50% in state but had taken more out of state as public funding kept getting lowered.

I think we were in school around the same time because I remember the discussions when I was there.

It is down to about 60% or so at SC. Maybe it is just the way it is now. It doesn't really bother me too much. It just seems contrary to the mission of the university.

OM has 25K total, with 20k in Oxford. I think your math is different than ours

Yeah, SC was always explicit in its intent to educate SC natives (as opposed to how Clemson views itself) and that's why it created that online Palmetto College and had a bridge program with Midlands Tech.

I admire that, but don't mind the out of staters either. It helps financially and it allows SC to spread its name and reputation better.

Then why did it take 120 seconds to edit and add the link?

I'm just curious about the timing of things is why I ask.

Really wish LSU would put an emphasis on OOS students

LSU sits at about 75% in state, which I like. Bama is at only 46% in state, which is typical, a bunch of bandwagoners

Plus, UGA and Florida are both public ivy.

UGA isn't even part of the AAU.

Before you dig yourself in too deep there Sparky, you might want to check UGA's research numbers and sit back for a bit of AAU education.

AAU was the early control of the IVY, B1G, and PAC and the south has been "out of favor" from day 1. Consider how good Georgia Tech is, and they just in around the time TAMU did. UGA's biggest problem is their southern location and their SEC affiliation (Emory and GT are already in). Pay attention to the real data next time.

And yet Florida, Vandy and TAMU are all part of the club.UGA is the only "public ivy" in the SEC that isn't.

I get that part of the AAU is political, but eventually your numbers are so overwhelming that can't deny you. That is how we got in.

I also want to point out I didn't start this fight, he did.

The AAU is weird though. Notre Dame isn't in yet they have schools like Iowa State, Kansas, and Rutgers. Nebraska got kicked out a few years ago just because their medical center isn't on campus.
