Fo realz! I mean, who the hell would stay in College Station at a little second rate cow college when he could go to sunny LA and get paid more than any coach in the county to lead perhaps of the most prominent brand in all of college football?

No question. He gone!

The first, third, and last paragraph of your argument is completely biased because okie state is in the big XII. Just because Texas gets into better bowls than okie lite doesn't mean that they are the best school in Texas right now. Also cotton>>>>>>>>Alamo>>>>>>>>>heart of Dallas.

Oh, come now. Don't play coy. We all know that USC is offering to double his salary to get him to LA. Sumlin is their guy, and there is just no way anyone would ever say no to USC in order to keep coaching at a crappy cow college job like little ol' A&M.

Well, you're obviously remembering wrong. A&M has nothing to offer, and USC is the pinnacle of college football.

You would have to hogtie me, beat me down, and threaten to murder my family before I'd agree to live anywhere near Los Angeles. So... /discussion.

In any event, there's a reason some recruits choose the "glamor" of places like L.A. or Miami or even, on a smaller scale, Austin or Columbus or even that place that's near Nawlins but not quite there. There's also a reason why so many recruits choose spend their career in Norman or College Station or Tuscaloosa. Though the reasons won't always overlap, the basic logic applies just as much to coaches as it does to recruits. If Sumlin wants to do the L.A. scene, he will, of course. I've never gotten the impression he was the sort -- people like Spurrier and our own James Franklin seem more inclined in that direction -- but you can list all the reasons in the world for him to do so and none of them will mean a thing if he simply thinks TAMU is a better fit for him regardless of the external factors involved.

The pinnacle of college football would never get blown out by Arizona state, lose to Washington state, or barely beat Arizona, or Utah state.

A&M has far more political power in the State of Texas than Texas

If you are referring to our dense, lame-duck, cocksucking (I mean this literally) Governor, then you may be right, temporarily. Otherwise you have no case and he will soon be replaced by a UT Law graduate who will make right what Perry has made wrong.

- It's all Perry's fault (and Jeff Fisher's);
- Aggies have no other political representation other than Governor goodhair;
- The governor's office in Texas is an all-powerful, all-encompassing juggernaut that controls the state like a dictator.

Honest question, though:

Why is that so many rantards get wet panties when they dream about Sumlin leaving A&M?

They see the power looming in the distance out west, growing stronger by the day. Pissant programs like Arky and Old Miss are praying the giant on the western horizon is just a mirage.
