Auburn recently announced they'll do the same, too.

There's a reason UGA administrators have been holding out against selling ale to their fans inside the stadium .... and it's a good reason.

I still bring my own airplane liquor bottles because its the SEC way.

Drinking a domestic beer or a seltzer sold at the stadium just makes me have a worse hangover.

The brewery is smarter than UGA athletics. They realized an overweight inbred flat faced evolutionary mistake jut should not be the face of their brand.

Exactly. All you have to do is wear tighty whiteys to the game and wear the airplane bottle like a jock strap past top flight security. There's nothing quite like mixing stadium fountain Coke or Sprite with Jim Beam.

I can't wait to bark right in the face of kids with beer breath for the first time. Even better if they are wearing Gamecock shirts

Poor lil Smokey, his girl left him for a UGA fan and his hatred and obsession controls him. How sad

That's certainly one of the more obvious reasons .... as all SEC fans might attest-to.

There are others ... other reasons.

Why don't you share those reasons with the class?

Back when I was a student living off campus the property owner would occasionally stop by to do maintenance. He was a native and loved to talk about wild times from Athens past.

Apparently the whole county ran out of alcohol a few times when Sanford first started hosting night games...told me he had to sell some of his property after it was burned in a riot

Things have certainly changed. I know a man who owns a house about 5 or so blocks from the book store for the sole purpose of hosting gameday parties. He was arrested on his front porch around 1998 or so for public drunk when ACC came around and told him the streets had to be cleared of cars. He told the cops if he wanted it cleared to clear it, he had company in the backyard and none of the cars belonged to any of them. Had a beer in his hand...taken to the ground, handcuffed and drug off to jail. They of course released him almost as soon as they got to the station and never charged him with anything but he missed a helluva party...the people there didn't even know he was gone til he called one of them to come get him from the jail.

Georgia has been selling beer at Jack Russell Stadium for some time now so I don't think it was about anything beyond logistics.

Athens has some top notch breweries so I'm more inclined to pay $6 for a pint of good beer as opposed to paying $8 for a can of Coors Light or $9 for a 16 ounce Budweiser.

Athens now has the "Athens Beer Trail" to enjoy:

I rarely buy stadium concessions. Besides, one beer will cost as much as a six pack at the store

Wow, UGA football staffers must have really had wild nights driving around when that happened
