Was this thread started in 2001? Surely it was, right?

McGarity was on the radio this morning and said there will be 0% chance of indoor track involved with this project.
Honestly, this is a big relief to me. I've seen the IPFs with indoor tracks and they're just a mess to look at.

Practicing in the elements is better for your team.

Agreed: The site needs to be sport specific not, an F-35 blunderbuss. F-22 for football "only!"

What do you think we've been doing for over 100 years? We're only building this damned thing so other schools can't negative recruit on the grounds that we don't have one (and so rival fans can't point to the small multi-purpose room and call it an IPF).

What does this even mean?

False. You won't spend $30,000,000 on the basis of negative recruiting

This
is a mess compared to this
We're friggin UGA. If we want a damn Indoor track, then build an honest to god facility on South Milledge. I don't want to cut corners (literally, in the case of Vandy's IPF endzones).

We really have no other reason to build it. Maybe because our fans have been bitching about getting one for years, but even then that's only because we fell like it hurts recruiting to not have one. Otherwise, we maybe have only a handful of practices out of the year interrupted or cancelled by weather. It's really not a huge need.

I beg ta' differ!
I honestly think SC (or CIYE) has been flying camera laden pigeons over our "exposed" practice facilities for sometime now right before gameday.
It's the only thing that makes sense!
VMRI Drone technology is out of the question for SC graduates.

McGarity's brief reasoning for not doing doing indoor track (for the purposes of NCAA competition) was that you then have to account for grandstands, public restrooms, etc then Dowdle cut him off and asked another question.
That's what I got out of it, but I don't know much about track.

No shite... a couple years ago I saw Steve Spurrier wearing a funny hat and a fake mustache having a drink at the Georgia Center bar, and he had binoculars. I just thought it was a guy who really looked like Spur that was just in town for a birdwatching convention, but later that night it hit me...
It isn't birdwatching season in East GA for another two months...
But I was already gone by that point, and had no evidence to make such a claim, so I let it go.
If the new IPF goes where we think it's going, he won't be able to spy from his usual location anymore, not even on the scout team that will still be outside.

I'm just kidding around asked some people to create this on the fark board and yes, I should feel bad but I don't.

Damn, LSUs looks like a bomb shelter.
Is UGA literally the last in the whole league to build one? Not trolling dogs' just asking.
I think even Mizzou has one, not sure if full size.

Florida doesn't but they're building one now. I'm pretty certain we are the last one to do it. Which has me wondering......
Does Georgia Tech have an IPF?

Yea, I was counting theirs since apparently it is basically done. Thing went up faster than a backpacking tent, no clue how it cost them $15M.

Florida nor Georgia lose that many practices to inclement weather, especially in the winter months. So no really great reason to have them.

To be fair, UGA has had one but it was only the red zone. Maybe 30 or 35 yards, I don't recall exactly how big it is, there's a million pics on the web if you want to know exactly how big (small) it is.
