I would guess tearing down two relatively large buildings probably has something to do with the cost as well.

They're gonna have to relocate The Hoke and Annex. I wonder where they have in mind

This brings music to my ears:

Georgia also is in the planning stages of adding two more courts to the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Tennis Courts, as well as renovating the ITA Men's Tennis Hall of Fame building. Georgia, long called the "mecca of college tennis," will next host the NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Championships in 2017. McGarity said Georgia needed to increase it's indoor facility to six courts to keep the Dan Magill Tennis Complex at a championship level.

Some talk that UGA may also be eliminating smith street and one of the turf fields for the new IPF. Leads me to believe that this thing might also feature an indoor track or something else

Welcome to what already has taken place in Knoxville.

It feels good to have our little siblings trying to copy us.

Hey, this is strictly an IPF thread. We'll win some soon, don't you worry. But, in the meantime...

At this point, with the money spent on it, I don't think you can make a "better" facility than the one we have. Once you get to the level of Oregon, Tenn, Bama etc, you can't really make them better, you can only make them different. But you're more than welcome to make it as different as you want

As soon as I hear anything, I will. But there is a ton being kept tightly under wraps and for good reason. The plans are in place and now it's going to be about negotiating prices for the desired land and, probably, funding the rebuilding of 4H and Ag Dept buildings elsewhere on or around campus. So, not much will come out until actual deals have been struck.

McGarity was on the radio this morning and said there will be 0% chance of indoor track involved with this project.
