We know who runs the university system in Georgia. Why are you so scared of Georgia State?

Not true. If UGA ran the University system, we wouldn't have our med school in Athens being held hostage by the pissants that run the med school in Augusta. UGA has a large representation but not enough to completely control the whole BOR.

You do understand that this is the governing body of ALL of the universities in the state, NOT the University of Georgia....right?

Well, it governs most all of the universities in the state. Young Harris, many of the HBCs, Mercer, Emory, etc are all their own thing

Tbh states future sports complex is going to be awesome. (Unless this screws up the plans).

Georgia State has come a long ways the past few years. I for one am right proud of the progress they have made and hope they continue to make progress. My son graduated from there and I have watched them grow last few years.

I would love to see State take over as ATL's team and compete with Tech and Southern for recruits. Only drives the other programs in the state to get better which, in turn, pushes UGA to stay on top. Growth is healthy for everyone

But this is a thread about Georgia

Actually it is not. It is a thread about Georgia State....unless you can find something in the link that says Georgia is behind the proposed rule change. Can you point that out to me, please? if not, then the thread is as much about Tennessee as it is Georgia.

When I said Georgia, I was referring to the state of Georgia

Right, it's most of the public ones. Point still stands. He's making it out to be something it isn't.

And had I read further in the thread before posting, I wouldn't have fed the troll.

I've lived in Georgia myself, great state, but yeah... there is Georgia and then there is Atlanta. Its a night and day difference there.

Atlanta is simply the place where the rest of the world meets the state of Georgia. There are tiny alcoves within the city that still carry some traditional southern flare but "Atlanta" and "Georgia" had might as well be two different states entirely. Savannah, Macon, Augusta, Valdosta, Columbus, and (while we're apparently assigning cities to different states) Chattanooga are all southern and Georgia cities. Atlanta is its own thing entirely.

Yep, non-Atlanta Georgia is basically South Carolina or Alabama.

My father grew up in Arkansas. He was born and raised in Magnolia.

I believe Kennesaw State is starting a D1 program in football next year. I hope they are able to adjust to any new rules. It's a growing campus

KSU plays 1AA football (last year was inagural season). No immediate plans to go to D1.

Don't drag us down to your level The Georgia coast and mountains are really nice and cities like Savannah and Athens are better than anything Bama or South Carolina have to offer (save Charleston). Granted, Macon, Columbus, and Augusta are pretty similar to Columbia and Montgomery in terms of crappiness

Probably shouldn't be either. KSU acts as a more of a commuter school for the north metro suburbs than State does. Cobb county needs to figures its shite and infrastructure out with the Braves stadium before KSU starts inviting D1 teams to come to town.
