Saban is very demanding. Heck I could see him firing 1/3 of UA coaches

Which is why this hire is horrible. We didn't need a safe hire and this pretty much means we are stuck with Anthony Grant for 3 more years. This guy won't be firing anybody.

We've got a few that need to shape up or ship out IMO.

Battle is a nice guy and likes to tell stories that old people love. He'll be more worried about his morning coffee and newspaper than he will other sports not named football.

I think it would be hard for him to pass the torch if he stayed... But who knows. There are a lot of people who would be good options when the time comes.

They are in the middle of a bit of momentum right now, and I think they were looking for continuity. Additionally, Battle offers the unique experience of being able to capitalize on revenue for the long haul, which is realy valuable especially given the culture of college sports/ESPN/NCAA issues that are looming.

Hey you guys can still take Dave hart - he would honestly probably come there even with a pay cut. It's a win win for both of us - I think? You can have jimmy cheek as well ... 2 for the price of 1.

It's a wonder that everyone who has started a T-shirt company didn't have the vision to turn it into a multi billion dollar empire.

I'm sure that's less than what you have done. Throw your application into the ring, Einstein.

Less or more in measures of what? Money? Some people in this world strive for greater things beyond material. While slimey CEOs do anything they can to fill their pocket books.

I would agree with you if he was a tad younger but he's old and won't be needing to make any waves during his tenure.
