Stansbury was a potential candidate

I heard bama was making a run at him 3 weeks ago, you would think they would set their sights higher.

I agree, but couple Stansbury with the REC and things might get interesting. They would certainly get some talent.

A couple of the "big money" boosters favor Stans, not sure why, according to the same source.

Like they are old golfing buddies or some shite.

Losing Stans would hurt aggy just as much as it hurt Ms. State, while at the same time Bama stays at their preferred level of mediocrity.

The conference as a whole would suffer from a hire like this.

Stans is a retread. If Battle thinks that turd will fly he better back up and try again. The fan base is on the sideline waiting to see what he does but if be hires a BS retread he will be stuck with an empty Coleman.

Why would you go after a guy riding the success built by Kennedy?

he's been there long enough for the program to deteriorate if it were going to under him ... past 2 years weren't stellar, but this year was ... he's young ... he coached at bama ... they play very well away from home ... and he'd be cheap, which is not a big consideration but it does make the decision more palatable ...

He may be a retread but the man can bring in talent . While he wouldn't be my first choice, I wouldn't mind him if some others decline first .

It'll be mark gorfired redux.

Gimme Archie griffin or ben howland. Chris Jans deserves a look.

Knowing the people Battle listens too, TR Dunn scares me.

I was kind of joking when I suggested this the other day, but I do think Davis could do well at Alabama. I doubt he'd get any serious consideration, though.

They don't have to look any further than Birmingham for a good, young coach: Jerod Haase.

I suggest a current member of the UK staff who has been a Head Coach in the SEC, TB would be great.
