Having said that I wouldn’t mind seeing a 6 team playoff where the top 2 teams get a bye. Plus the BCS system is what ranks the teams.

I’d be cool with 6 but really don’t wanna go to 8.

I keep reading about expansion but it needs to go back to old BCS model.

#3 seed has yet to win, and maybe even compete. Don't remember all the 2v3 games.

It's B.

And yet some fans want to water this shite down even more by adding more teams...and subsequently, more blowouts.

The 6 game route would placate the Big 10 and PAC 12. While limiting the blowouts to the semifinals.

OSU versus OU and Washington versus Notre Dame would’ve been interesting games.

The best two teams are clearly Alabama and Clemson.

#3 some distance behind is Georgia.

#4 and 5, in some order even farther back, are Oklahoma and Ohio State.

After that there's a mass of mediocrity, all of whom would be raped by Alabama and Clemson in any 1-8/2-7 matchups.

Ohio State would have put up more fight than either ND or OU, but still would have lost.

We need to make a new trophy. The Georgia national championship

If you ever lead Alabama at any point than you get the “Georgia championship trophy”. The citadel deserves to be in the playoffs

My god the Georgia fans are annoying. We deserve this and deserve that and these other teams shouldn’t get this or that. What a bunch of crap

Last year Georgia’s best team in 30 years barely beat a Notre Dame team that wasn’t as good as this one and that same Notre Dame team beat LSU which beat the shite out Georgia this year

I will make a trophy for you guys to have. The Tim Tebow Paul finebaum whine and botch trophy

Clemson will most likely get exposed. I don’t think it will be a close game either.

Ohio state and Oklahoma might be better than Georgia. And I bet Notre Dame would be a closer game just like last year

Clemson and Alabama depth is on another level

As soon as Notre Dame lost three defensive players in the first half. One a first team all American Clemson finally could do,so,etching offensively

Clemson and Alabama can survive that. Other schools, can’t

Boom. Well said. UGA fans need to STFU, leave the table and go to their corner. A two loss team should never get in. I don’t care how weak another team may be. If you go undefeated you deserve a shot. Very hard to do these days. Fact is Clemson and Alabama are just that good. Clemson would have beat just about anyone else in the discussion. Maybe not as badly but they would have won.

Hypothetical scenario about conference championship automatic qualifiers. If Northwestern would of upset Ohio State in the Big 10 Championship this year, would you have let Norhwestern into the CFB playoff?

It happened once in 2007. The most batshit insane year in recent CFB history.

CFB is and has been top heavy. Right now Alabama is King, but depending on the coach and decade it could be any number of teams. FSU, Miami, USC, etc have had runs although not nearly as long or consistent as Alabama.

Increasing games isn't going to make better playoffs or championship games. The only "fix" I see is to lower the amount of scholarships teams have to reduce stockpiling. Maybe 70 players and signing classes if 20/year.

D) Kind of like B, but the problem this year is that two teams were dominant. You can pick a legit top 4 but that doesn't narrow any gaps. Outside of UGA, who could stay on the field with Bama this year? Pretty much anyone you picked for the 4 slot would have been beaten just as bad, if not worse. Probably worse. Arguing for Clemson is a little iffier, but they still have loads of talent.

OU vs UGA was competitive OU vs bam was competitive

I didn’t think last night was competitive. Jmo but it looked like Bama went to sleep after 1st quarter. Oklahoma as great as they are on offense. Are equally as bad on defense.
