There seem to be 3 conclusions one can reach. A) the committee is failing to pick the 4 most competitive teams. (Obvious this year IMO). B) There are not 4 teams that are good enough to compete at the highest level, but at most 3 (in which case adding teams would not prove a solution.) C) Some combination of A and B.

I personally think it is A. But I don’t think there is an easy solution either. Too many incentives to put teams in that don’t belong/do not have a complete team.

We've had what, two competitive games out of 10 now? It's pretty bad. I don't know what the answer is. I feel like another round of games is going to result in even shittier first round matchups, but could lead to more competitive semifinal games.

A 6 team championship would provide better first round games. You’re still going to have 2 to 3 teams that are clearly better than everyone else.

A playoff worthy team doesn’t lose to Ed Orgeron by 20 points

I think a repeat of last year’s semis would have resulted in more competitive games. But I still think OU was a distant fourth. Fromm would have put up a lot of points I think.

But Tennessee loses to Derek Mason.

Yes, six teams would probably help with the first round. Not sure it would do much for the semifinals.

The committee refuses to put the 4 best teams in the playoff because sensitive little pussy who play touch football will cry and shite their pants when presented with reality.

I don’t think most people agree w that sentiment bro. Clemson would not be undefeated with an SEC schedule. You would drop a game a year.

This is pretty much true. I doubt there were many people on the committee that honestly thought Notre Dame would beat Georgia head-to-head. Most people don't want the four best teams. They just want "their" team/region/conference to be included. It's why all these expansion stories start with the automatic qualifier bullshite.

UGA should have been 4th and not Oklahoma with no defense. That big 12 shite is weak..its air attack with no substance and the better teams will always crush them.

Real football is run the ball, stop the run and play sound field position.

OU vs UGA was competitive
OU vs bam was competitive

ND was the wrong choice. Would have liked to see OU vs UGA and bama vs Clemson this year.

2 teams is the right # more often than 4 has been.

People wanting bigger playoffs are crazy.

You can watch Michigan and UCF get blown out too!

3 out of 4 NC games have been good.

2 out of 10 playoff semifinals have been good.

At the minimum the playoff is giving us a good NC game.

The game was never in doubt as to the outcome and Oklahoma was never closer than what, 11 points, after the first five minutes.

Make the playoff all SEC. The talent gap between the SEC and the rest of the country is real big. Real real big. And only getting bigger. Even A&M is getting talent.
