Seeing as how Tony Brown and Bradley Sylve are LSU deserters, you may be onto something.

But nobody is worried about the defense playing up to par.

They are usually one of the best defenses since CNS has been there so it would not surprise me if Bama had a very physical, tough defense this fall.

IMO we have holes to fill. best defense in SEC all around? We will have a great D line but holes to fill in other areas. So False

Tony Brown
Gerald Willis
Speedy Noil
Malachi Dupree
Leonard Fournette

Were all "locks" to LSU at one point. Just trying to poke fun while my A/C gets worked on.

Think the offense will have something to say about that, too.

By this I mean the offense can take pressure off the defense.

Bama was lucky with Tony Brown. He was all LSU.

tbh, I'm not sure how any team recruits a DB away from LSU. Great system, great visibility, ability to play early, and great draft success.

Hell, Jalen Collins was our #3 CB and got drafted Rd. 2..

That said, no hard feelings to Tony. But he would have had a better career here. If we can actually pressure QBs, our DBs should wreak even more havoc.

How's that possible? So he'd be starting at DBU but not Bama?

No way would he be a starter. Tre White has one position on lockdown and coaches are hopeful Rashard Robinson will get his act together.

Dwayne Thomas was doing his best Mathieu impression before a nasty ACL injury, and Ed Paris is just as talented as Brown and Kevin Toliver more so.

But if you have ability, you will get PT in LSU's system.

I doubt he ever starts at either place.

So if he never starts at either school, what do we base his "career" on? (nevermind the fact he has started at Bama and played quite a bit)

Would it be being part of Championship teams? Winning games?

LSU won't have Chavis. No way they have a good defense.

Fans care about championships, players care about getting paid. Tony Brown will do fine and if he takes care of business, might accomplish both at Alabama.

But as a DB, I think in terms of development and draft positioning, he would have done better here.

Man, I guess he should have thought about that during his recruitment.

Not out of the question.

The defensive line will be very good. Maybe the best in the country. And depth everywhere.

The LBs have Ragland. If he leads Alabama is tackles, it will be a great year. 2009,2011,and 2012 had that in common with McClain, Hightower, and Mosley. The question marks at LB are at the other three spots. Lots of talent but can Rueben Foster take a step forward at Will? Who's going to be the Sam? Is Evans going to be the Jack?

I like the guys at corner with Cyrus Jones and Tony Brown. A ridiculous amount of talent behind them. But they are young. The safeties scare me. Again, young and talented but no one to really lead the group.

Basically, it will be a season with some growing pains but a great defensive line can let other units grow on the job until October arrives.

Good luck running the ball on this defense. There isn't a better front 7 in the nation. Every single guy will play in the league (Reed, Robinson, Ragland, Allen are absolute guarantees) and the back end will be improved.

Lsu ran the ball 56 times against Alabama for 183 yards last year. Good fricking luck getting that this year, and it isn't even that great at 3 yards per carry.
