You mean like does with the RB who scored the winning TD in the Super Bowl? James White had 39 carries last year and was targeted 86 times as a receiver - more than any listed WR except Edelman. White had 22 carries and 54 targets the year before. Belichick has been doing this forever with Danny Woodhead, Shanne Vereen and Kevin Faulk?

Again, There is a difference in being a great pass catching RB and being versatile enough to play both receiver and RB. If you don't understand that, I can't help you.

And if you can't understand that when a RB lines up in the slot he becomes a receiver, I can't help you. No NFL team is going to use a RB with McCaffery's skills primarily as an X or Z receiver. The only reason he is getting this attention as a receiver is because he used his Pro Day to promote his versatility and increase his draft value.

These RBs that slide over still have limited receiver skills. They can often be defended with a linebacker. Not going to happen with McCaffrey.

AP played on an offense with a hiesman QB, that put up a lot of points. LF played on an offense that had 3 plays in the entire playbook and a QB who couldn't throw accurately past 20 yards.

So, what you are saying, is that the opposing defenses, playing Oklahoma, had to respect the pass, and couldn't quite key on AP as much. And that, the opposing defenses, playing LSU, could just go after LF because there was no need to respect the pass. And finally that, despite all this, LF still averaged almost a full yard per carry more than AP in college?

Do you watch NFL football? You think that NFL teams in nickel and dime packages with pass rushing LB's are covering slot receivers with LB's? They aren't even covering TE's with LBs.

Defenses in dime and nickel coverages can still happen upon defensive mismatches by the offense shifting McCaffery back to RB. It's a chess match really, and an imaginative OC can spot the defensive mismatches that a versatile RB forces upon the defense.
I love how all the LSU fans are acting so butthurt even though I said LF was preferred over Mccaffrey.

I don't think anyone is butthurt. Sure there's homerism, that's normal. But McCaffery in my opinion is Danny Woodhead 2.0, not a bad thing, but neither are NFL dominating type players. Just solid playmakers. LF has the "potential" to dominate though.

Music to my ears bro because I basically said the exact same thing on page 1. I do believe McCaffery is a much better athlete than Woodhead though
From page 1:

Christian Mccaffrey isn't dominating the NFL any time soon. He will be a role player. Panthers better not get him with their eighth pick. LF would fit a helluva lot better.

I agree. I think Mixon is a bit overhyped. I would take Cook over Mixon.

Why would anyone be upset if Mixon goes in the first round?

Because they are idiots.

Mixon destroyed Auburn with his hands. He will at least be a good third down back as well.

You really don't watch NFL football. There's a reason that NFL teams don't draft RB's high, overreach on QB's and edge rushers and use 5 receiver sets. 3rd and 2 in the NFL now is a passing situation. You are doing an NFL DC a huge favor shifting a slot receiver into the backfield.

Maybe so for "a slot receiver." Shifting McCaffery back to RB forces teams to respect the run on third and two though. The joke continues to be on you just in case you're wondering.

Guess the NFL GM's that are salivating over McCaffery are "too fricking stupid" as well.

I don't know what your deal is. I like McCafferey. And yes, some of the NFL GM's are "too fricking stupid". Let's start with the GM who gave a QB a $45 million contract last month and then traded away a 3rd and an 4th in 2017 and a 3rd in 2018 to move up from #3 to #2 to draft a QB that may have been avaialable at #12.
