nah he is just a big guy that can catch. but there are plenty of guys that can do the same thing. I don't see what is really freakish about anything he does.

I predict there will be 3-4 rookie WRs that will have a better year than him.

Saying Treadwell sh!ts on Colston isn't just presumptuous, it's illogical and makes zero sense. Does he have the potential to be better? He'll need a great QB, a fantastic coach, a consistently healthy career and also to maximize his potential 100% to top what Colston did.

Gfunk, I agree with all this, BUT YOU SAID COLSTONS ARE AVAILABLE ALL THROUGHOUT THE DRAFT!!!

Thats a much bigger slap in the face to a guy like COLSTON.

This is your exact quote
quote:

Marques Colston's are available in every round of the Draft. Not just the 1st or 2nd.

We could be as lucky to draft another COLSTON in any round.

I think those times are fine for him, and to be expected.
He's still a top 15 pick depending on which team needs him the most.

His speed may not be blazing, but he showed great hands, body control and positioning. He also seemed to really "attack" and come back to the ball.

Unless he becomes a head case, or really slows down after a few years, he should be in the league for awhile.

To me he is a #2 possession receiver in the NFL. I wouldn't want my team to take him in the first round. This WR draft class is terrible, and the free agency pool was even worse so he will get pushed higher.

Would be a terrible pick up for the Saints at 12. Need to start preparing for the future, Quon is good but he isn't a guy who will come in and make a young QB's job easy.

IMO the Saints need someone who can open up the field. There are a few guys better at that coming out this year. If you can't get that, the defense needs some help.

I don't think Payton passes up Treadwell if he is available.

ETA Cooks is our guy to open up the field.

Treadwell has the moves of Amari Cooper but without his top end speed. Both guys are smart and going to get open, even in the NFL. But, Treadwell will not have that break away speed like Amari and Julio has.

Many of the mock drafts have the Saints selecting A'Shawn with the 12th pick.

What statement?

That colston is a GOOD WR or that the running surface was poor? Those are the only statements that I've made.

Absolutely not. Treadwell's physical dominance helped him make catches but Cooper suddenness and quickness into and out of breaks is far superior to Treadwell.

Again, this isn't a slight to Treadwell as I think he's going to be a good professional player in the NFL. I just think this is another bad comparison.

And there isn't evidence to say otherwise. Laquon is going to tear up the league. The guy is a freak and I honestly think we didn't use him well at all until last season.

He said Laquon "shits," on Colston. Colston just retired as the best receiver in the best passing offense that this League has ever seen (and is seeing since its still currently ongoing). That's not up for debate. That's verifiable fact via an entire career's worth of production at the professional level.

Production which Treadwell has none of at this point.

There's no way-on Earth-to say that he will. Is it highly likely he will? Absolutely. But it's not a reflexive statement that can be neither proven or unproven as your response indicates. It's a comparison saying one>other where one=Treadwell and other=Colston.

Colston has achieved on the professional level. At this point, by virtue of a single recorded stat he's superior to Treadwell based on the discussion. For the purposes of this discussion, for the original rebuttal to be true, not only will Treadwell need to record at least some professional stats, he'll have to record at least as much as what Colston did, and then-using some nebulous, intangible and unquantifiable metric that exists in his head only at this point-he'd have to record more than Colston.

Therefore, Treadwell can't sh!t on Colston right now and at this point, it's up for debate whether he will ever be able to "sh!t," on Colston based on what I've laid out before.

You need to work on basic logic and reasoning. That's a relatively easy concept to grasp.

Again, I get you guys are Ole Miss and Laquon Fans. I'm an LSU Fan first and foremost, and I'm talking him up and would be interested if he's available at 12 in the NFL Draft. Clearly you can see I think he's a fantastic player.

But I'm not going to just make sh!t up to support him when it comes to discussing the kid and his ability. There's no need to do that when we're being civil and rational.

Mike Mayock timed him at a 4.62 (not important just noting). Laquon doesn't use speed to get separation, he uses his hands and has a great break at the line. We know what he can do in the air in a one on one situation. He will not be a TD machine at the next level, but he will be an extremely consistent chain mover. Somewhere between the 15th and 25th pick.

Saints need to break their bad habit of spending too many high draft choices on WR's. I am a Saints and Payton fan and am saying this constructively.

Need best player available for either OL or D front 7 guy.

Congrats to him..did Freeze perform it? I guess if it's good enough for Sean Tuohy Jr it's good enough for Treadwell.
