Andre Johnson ran a 4.41.

Maybe Keyshawn Johnson.

Unless the receiver is an absolute physical freak like Calvin Johnson or Julio, I wouldn't draft a receiver in the top 15. I'd focus those picks on corners, quarterbacks, and offensive and defensive lineman. I love Treadwell and definitely think he should be the 1st receiver drafted, but I think the 20-25 range is the best place for someone like him. That's a team that does not have a lot of weaknesses and might be a solid contributor or two away from making a run in the playoffs. Put him on a team like the Bengals or Texans, and that could really open those offenses up and take pressure off of Hopkins and AJ Green. I definitely think Treadwell will be a number 1 receiver at some point, but Receivers just aren't worth top 15 picks unless they have insane production and measurables.

Treadwell is very similar to Anquan Boldin IMO

Saying he's a "physical freak" like some of the OM posters are is obviously not true but he could still be a really good NFL WR and will go high in the draft

This is all that I know... LT was the best WR's to ever don a uniform over the 30 years I've watched Ole Miss IMO...

I've never seen someone so open when he was singled covered.. Anytime he was manned up and the ball was thrown up... It was never a 50/50 ball to him.. It was more like 70/30.. He simply could not be covered by one man.. No matter who the defender was...

This is a great comp. Treadwell is a little taller and a little faster, but both of their games center around physicality and making the catch. Neither was/is going to blow past NFL DBs and neither was/is known for being super elusive after the catch.

Treadwell isn't going to be an NFL WR in the mold of recent SEC WRs like Julio, Green, OBJ, or Amari, but he's going to be a very good pro.

With the DL talent this year I wanted the Saints to try and nab him if he was there at 12. But I've read some next gen breakdowns on his YPC and stats and they seem to project him as a possession-type receiver in the League.

There's always good use in breaking down stats but his college YPC stats are pretty useless in NFL projections because of the number of bubble screens Freeze used him in. If we had a typical pro style offense his YPC would matter more but in our offense Freeze uses bubble screens designed to only gain 3-5 yards to supplement the run game. This hurts treadwells stats but show off his physical ability to earn tough yards and catch balls in traffic. If Treadwell gets in a good organization with a good mentor he will shine in a pro style offense. He cannot be single covered.

Treadwell is a full-grown man whatever his 40 times were. I'm glad he left early.

Not sure about electronic timing in football, but in track and field, you round up to the higher tenth of a second and add .24. Thus, both of his 40 times would have been 4.94. That's REALLY slow for a WR.

How slow was he against your team?

Slow enough to get caught from behind just before scoring the winning TD.

Andre Johnson - 6-2 230, 4.41, 41" vertical, 10-9 broad jump

Not quite.

You're right. I didn't realize Keyshawn ran a 4.47. Always thought he was slower than that for some reason.

Yeah, these Piss fans are crazy. Treadwell might be a good player, but he's not even on the same planet athletically as someone like Andre.

I never looked up all his numbers but I've always looked at Anquan Boldin as a great comparison for Treadwell. If I remember right he dropped big time in the draft because he ran in the 4.7s but man his a gamer.
