Are you saying Meyer left a lot at UF for Muschamp?

Didn't UF have like 20+ injuries to scholarship players one year Muschamp was coaching?

Yes.

By the way, I don't think they allow gifs in sigs on this website.

Judging from our success, that doesn't work either.

Muschamp ain't HC material. He's just not a detail type guy. Doesn't know how to delegate. He's a great field general as a DC though. He can come to T-town. Saban will corral that crappy attitude and turn him into a badass DC again.

SC supplemented by UF (if his contract at UF was more than his SC contract).

If SC pays more, then I'm pretty sure UF will be off the hook.

I am not so sure. I think it was a set amount, regardless of his next job.

I am sure someone from Florida can clarify.

Per Gamecockology on Twitter:

Record thru first 4 seasons as HC:

Saban: 28-18
Beamer: 17-26
Mack Brown: 12-33
Holtz: 21-23
Dantonio: 25-23

Muschamp: 28-21

Those coaches you listed did not start at UF who had just won 2 national titles in 3 years.

IIRC UF is paying Boom no matter what job he has.

Coach Boom would be great if he went out and got a Big 12 Offensive Coordinator.

Muschamp is young. I am sure he grew as a coach from his experience at UF.

If he had truly "grown from his experience", he would not have had that colossal meltdown last Saturday night and killed any chance his team had of a comeback. He has no control over his emotions or his behavior. After getting flagged, he later had to be dragged off the field again, knowing intellectually that he could get flagged again, ejected, fined by the SEC, suspended, and even fired. He is incapable of controlling his behavior.

I am ambivalent about the flag. I have seen other coaches getting away plenty of times with giving the refs an earful. It was the second part you mentioned that did concern me. At that point, you have to realize you are only making the situation worse, whether you agree or not. It comes down to knowing when to pick your battles and making a rational, rather than emotional choice.

That being said, I doubt the HC gets flagged like that, and if he is the HC at SC hopefully he learned something from that. Failing at Florida does not mean he cannot succeed. He just really needs a knockout OC hire.

He is already reaching out to potential future members of his staff. That makes you think this is pretty much a done deal.

He offered Marcus Lattimore a position on his staff according to the local newspaper.

When you interview for a coaching job I is normal for you to reach out to people to show the ad the potential staff you could hire... ESP with Muschamp and his offensive failure at Florida
