Auburn will win the west.

I genuinely believe that most Auburn fans believe this.

Here's my question: Is a division championship your sole focus, or can you be content with less? In other words, how will you feel when/if you finish 4th?

Just seems like y'all are going in with an "all or nothing" mentality ... which often results in deep disappointment.

Returning a ton of talent from a team that barely finished 6-6 in the regular season isn't exactly the makings of a world-beater.

I had no idea how easily impressed the SEC would be with a win over Rice.

If you're one of the big 6 teams, you're never content with less than an SECC. Unless it's a rebuilding year, AU, UA, LSU, UF, UT and UGA should all expect to win the SEC.

I expect you guys to have some new and exciting complaints this fall

Like those kinds of excuses?

I think this is the year UGA wins the east again. Auburn will beat them in the SEC Championship game.

Definitely, but it'll be interesting how well UF bounces back. the UF/UGA game has always been close lately.

Florida will take a BIG step forward this year. Ga./Fla could go either way...as always.

1. Alabama
2. Auburn
3. LSU
4. Ole Miss
5. Texas A&M
6. Miss St
7. Arkansas

I had no idea that the rant would be so easily impressed with a team that had one more regular season win and a less than stellar performance against a mediocre Georgia Tech team.

See how that works?

I don't think they take a step backwards overall but I don't think they improve. Saban is too worried about stopping the run to really let the DL talent loose to make the big plays. Mosley was the one that made the most plays against Auburn and Dix was by far your best DB. CBs might be a draw. MH and TB are more talented than last years CBs but have no experience.

Bama will have arguably its most talented group this year in the front 7, especially DL and the last time the pass rush was a factor and the D was absolutely all about causing hell for opposing OL and QBs we had a DL coach that coached the correct 3-4 technique to the DL, Bo Davis, who coached Zo Washington, Marcell Dareus, Courtney Upshaw, Terrence Cody, among others, and was able to help all those guys understand their role and create that havoc but most of those guys weren't the most athletic. Well Bo is back and he has a much deeper stable to work with. There will be a significant difference from the front 7 this year.

There's still a lot of experience at Safety and you are right about Hump, Brown has already showed he's talented enough that he's gonna be Bama's best (maybe better) boundary shutdown corner since Dre K or Dee whichever you prefer he's very good, if Hump is as good as advertised its gonna add a totally different feel in the passing game which forces the smaller guys everyone beat last year (and Anthony Averett RSed) get to move inside and play more zone and makes the secondary better.

This Bama D had a lot to replace but sky is the limit on how much they can accomplish

I like Auburn's stability but the schedule just isn't conducive to 0-1 loss. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Putting LSU in the top 3 is a blatantly pathetic play to the home crowd.

Well finishing 4th and finish 1st are really different. If LSU turned out to be good, or if Alabama is really good (shocker) and we compete but finish 2nd or third, fine.

But Auburn is pretty stacked, so finishing 4th either means something went really wrong or one or more less talented teams got in front of us.

AU goes 2-2 against LSU, bama, state, and UGA. Winner of the west is going to be a crap shoot between LSU, AU, and bama with state/ole miss having an outside shot depending on how they play the big 3.

Only Gumps and Barners can say that stating the truth is whining.

This just in LSU fans whining when saying the sun rises in the East and sets in the West!"

Go buy another player Barner!

Our most likely chance for a loss could be Alabama and/or UGA but as long as we still win the SECw and make it to the SECCG I think we might manage to sneak in the Final Four

It'd be better to loose early but outside of LSU I don't see that happening

Pretty good list. I also think aggy will fall big time this year, they only have two scholarship quarterbacks. If they get injured, coupled with their horrible defense they will be battling State for 6th place in the West.

If imagine if any SEC team has their top 2 QBs on the depth chart get hurt they're probably in trouble. Groundbreaking analysis
