1: Bama, Saban has proven he doesn't need anything more than average QB play to win a national title let alone the SEC West.

2: Auburn, they upgrade their talent in several areas but the odds of it being enough to offset all those breaks they are unlikely to get again is minimal.

3: LSU, winner of the A&M/LSU game decides third place. Can't pick A&M until we prove it, John Chevis is the master of spread offenses.

4: A&M, see above.

5: Ole Miss, I predicated their win over LSU last year and I'll predict they beat at least two of the four teams I have ahead of them this year. I also predict they lose at least one game that we all laugh hysterically at.

6: MSU, I'm not buying the Dak Prescott hype. A&M had the worst defense in the history of history last year and all he really did was break a few nice runs against us. If he is what MSU fans make him out to be, they could be dangerous.

7: Arkansas, their offseason motto is "We almost beat LSU in the last game". That should tell you all you need to know. 0-16 through two years until proven otherwise for Bielema.

Maybe LSU should go with "rain" since that worked pretty well for another team last season.

This. It's all going to come down to the Iron Bowl again. The only thing I might change is Ole Miss at number 4. They have an experienced QB. Bama at home will be the difference.(since I've been corrected) Trust me, it's not easy to beat Saban two times in a row.

All the other teams fans are so convinced Bama's D takes a step back this year

Gonna be fun to see some of the reactions
I don't think they take a step backwards overall but I don't think they improve. Saban is too worried about stopping the run to really let the DL talent loose to make the big plays. Mosley was the one that made the most plays against Auburn and Dix was by far your best DB. CBs might be a draw. MH and TB are more talented than last years CBs but have no experience.

The only way they would really step backwards is if people seeing what A&M, Auburn, and OU did to move the ball helps them find ways to move the ball or the CBs don't catch on fast enough.

True, but Wallace has hit his ceiling IMO. He just didn't improve all that much from 2012 to 2013 (his rating was actually lower in 2013, though he threw fewer picks).

Ole Miss had incredible talent at several positions, but they also have arguably the worst talent in the west at several others. They are maybe the most top-heavy team in the league next year, and I just don't think they are good enough across the board to do more than play spoiler. They are good enough to beat anyone on a given day, but consistently they will inevitably turn the ball over at crucial times or their defense wont be able to stop someone.

1. Alabama - They should be atop this list every year Saban is there IMO.
2. LSU - Defense improves, offense finds rythym by mid season.
3. Auburn - Loses at least 3 games, could see a possible 4th. Can't fly under radar this year.
4. A&M - 4 losses, really tough to replace top player in college football.
5. Miss State - Good team, but the West is too tough.
6. Ole Miss
7. Arky

I see the West as being tiered and I know I'm being general when I say this but oh well.

Tier 1 Bama LSU Auburn
Tier 2 OM State and A&M (in same tier but still 6th
Bottom Arky.

I think tier 1 can be any combo of 1-3. Tier 2 is any combo of 4-6 an Arky is Bottom by theirselves.

Auburn - we're the most stable team in the west
LSU - Loses to Auburn, Beats Bama, plus 1 WTF loss
Alabama - No QB, shaky O-line, defense has holes
Mississippi State - The Mighty Merlins kinda shake things up
Ole Miss - Freeze freezes up
Texas A&M - Bad defense still bad
Arkansas - Will look better but it won't be seen in w/l record
this was closest to my thinking.

Bama and LSU are both replacing much of offense, do have some key defensive personnel that have gotten experience.

In the back of my mind however, if Ole Miss' time is ever, it is now. It's never easy in the W, but with AU are on stable and improving footing.

Auburn will win the west. We are just the most stable team with the most experience coming back in key positions. Bama has more overall talent but our talent is more experienced.

I can see LSU losing 3. One being a WTF just happened game.

I think this is the year UGA wins the east again. Auburn will beat them in the SEC Championship game.

Playoffs will be

Auburn
FSU
Ohio State
Oregon

I will get drunk a lot this year.

Again

Definitely, but it'll be interesting how well UF bounces back. the UF/UGA game has always been close lately.

Michigan State will beat team #3 in EL and is going on the road to beat team #4 at their stadium 9/6 (sarcasm, obviously)
