A full size facility wouldn't fit in between two building

A full size facility would have to either take up one of the outdoor practice fields or be located a couple of miles away on South Milledge Avenue near the Softball/Soccer stadiums.

their stadium was built in a drained pond

Tanyard Creek and the natural valley formed by it. The creek isn't drained; the water from it is still used to irrigate the field.

You could always build up when you run out of room to go out.

but that doesn't make sense at all to me

Welcome to the frickin club

Once a month I think we start a thread on the DR about how stingy our AD is with money and the inevitable direction of the conversation ends up on the subject of an IPF. It makes little to no sense, but as someone wisely stated in one of those threads, "UGA has never been a 'here are the tools so you can win championships' program. Instead, it has always been a 'you have to prove you deserve the tools by winning a championship first' type place." It's absolutely infuriating, though I guess the idea is that if you can find success without the necessary tools, oh how much better ye shall be when you finally have what you once needed.

And ruin the country club atmosphere/architecture being cultivated in Athens since Michael Adams took over as President? Are you nuts?

ETA: The Only building upward that will be happening is this massive Terry Business College expansion that will be ongoing by the stadium/heart of campus for the next 5 years.

To be honest, I've just never paid attention to what was going on in Fayetteville or most of the teams in the West from a Facility standpoint. Look good though

I'm talking mainly about the arch of the ceilings being too low to throw a pass along the sidelines in most (but not all) of the facilities.

Louisville's Trager Center...probably high quality compared to the rest of the BIG EAST...er American. Should be about average for the ACC I suppose.

Don't attract sunhog into this thread, you'll get him off on a tangent about the theme of campus.

I hear you on the have to prove you deserve it angle, Broyles took that approach for everything but football, obviously track has world class facilities, but he demphasized basketball in his later years, basically not money was spent on coaching, upgrades, etc. Now we are having to play catch up, but will again be back towards the top once the IPF if finished.

You don't give a coach the tools that everyone else they are competing against has, then demand they out-compete the rest of the coaches on the field/court/etc. backwards logic.

I think he is thinking the buildings have a standard 8-10 foot sidewall or something.

Aggies hardly ever use theirs. Sumlin wants his boys out in the heat.

it looks like a cheap arse warehouse.

Which begs a serious question. How come these facilities always seem to cost in the 20 - 40 million range? Office buildings do not cost that much and they have to include walls, elevators, more bathrooms, more concrete - for each floor - , more wiring, and all kinds of things that make office space more expensive to build than warehouses.
