Scarbrough would have coasted to most yards in the SEC if healthy. There is not any doubt about that

#22 rusher in the SEC with only 601 yards
On 110 attempts. 5.5 yards per carry as a true freshman. Like I said, get used to the name.

Except that Scarborough played in 13 games. Pettway played in 9 and Fournette in 7

I know crapping on LF will probably still be a thing 10 years from now. But he had almost 2,000 yds rushing in a season, which by the way was missing a cancelled game. Not Scarbrough, not Pettway, not any of those guys you are talking about will ever sniff those kinds of numbers. Except maybe Guice.

Against Auburn he had 11 yards for 1.4 ypc. And Williams had 22 yards for 1.7 ypc

Man, no wonder I forgot about them.

But I KNOW you remember Pettway. He led the way for a team total 542 rushing yards against Arky

I'll say this. The SEC is absolutely loaded at RB next year.

Fournette averaged 162.7 ypg that season

Pettway averaged 158 ypg in the 7 games he was health this year

Nick Chubb

Is he still a top 4 back? I'm not convinced he's the same back as he was before the injury. Seemed very average last year

Hard to tell. He played behind the worst Olive we have had in 20 years. I don't think he was 100 percent either

Seriously. The SEC is completely loaded at RB.

I thought it impressive what Snell did up at Kentucky. Also, Alabama had 3 (Count them) THREE RBs finish in the top 20 RBs of a 14 team league. Very impressive. Going into the season, Auburn looked like they would be a mess. Their whole team. Their starting RB was kicked off......again, what they did was impressive at RB, as well as the whole team.
Webb at Vandy? VANDY? We could go right down the list and there was some actually very impressive football played. This should be a huge year, too, with more experienced players/coaches.

Don't think Kylin Hill 4star RB MSU signed will play, might be redshirted. But although Cam Akers got all the attention for a Mississippi RB type recruit, many HS coaches say our guy is the pure best RB coming out of Mississippi. Time will tell.

Akers is damn good don't get me wrong. He is quick and great in open field, But Kylin Hill has speed, incredible balance and vision. He can shake off tacklers and although a 4star to Akers 5star, many HS coaches see him as a guy getting more yards after contact.

He needs to hit the weight room and boost himself up. Btw, he was MVP award for Mississippi in the Alabama / Mississippi All-Star game.

Fair question. I honestly think that was due to two things.
1) It takes a full year to recover from the kind of surgery he had completely. He was looking better later in the season. I realize that could have been to his recovering....or the competition. It's hard to definitively say.

2) Our OL play was below average last year. We should be much improved this year.

However, he will split a lot of carries with Michel, so he might not gain 1600-1700 yards this year anyway. Only time will tell, but I think he will be at least a top 5 back. He has that kind of drive and determination.

Chubb is such an easy kid to like.
Really pulling for him.

He is. A very unusual personality. Just a good kid all the way around.

Impossible to make the list this early. Obviously it's Damien Harris, Bo Scarborough, and Najee Harris at the top 3. But we can't know 4 and 5 until we're sure that BJ Emmons and Joshua Jacobs won't transfer.

If it makes you people feel better, we'll just leave you the 5th spot and make the list like this:

1. Bo Scarborough
2. Damien Harris
3. Najee Harris
4. Josh Jacobs/BJ Emmons
5. Some random overrated RB from another SEC team who secretly thanks God he didn't have to compete on Bama's roster.

Hope you're happy with that, it's the best I can do and keep my intellectual integrity.

No way the future NFL back who led the league in rushing as a sophomore behind a bad oline could be in consideration I guess....
