I'm sorry, I understand where you are coming from and see your argument, I just don't agree. I know that Croom was given every chance and more and I never once heard anyone make a big deal out of his race. For people to assume that someone saying he is a poor speaker is racist is wrong.

His hiring is almost identical to Obama's election. I don't dislike the guy, but I'm like, "why?" Why did we do that? I don't see the reason. Still don't, with both of them.

I disagree.

Croom had the resume. He played and coached for Coach Bryant, he coached many years in the NFL, with a successful organization. He was the runner-up at another SEC school's previous search, so he at least had been in the picture for a while.

To put Obama's pre-Presidential resume in Sylvester's world, it would be like Croom being a middle school coach for 3 years, a grad asst on the college level for 1 year, and a defensive ends coach for 2 years, half of which he spent skipping meetings to teach ball room dancing at the nearby community college.

He signed a cornerback while he was in JAIL. By all accounts he was lazy, and that was his downfall.

It wasnt a Corner it was a DT, who was in Jail b/c he beat the hell out of a guy who messed with his G/f and put the guy in the hospital. FWIW the same guy got his degree and is now a HS football coach.

It's a type of discrimination at the very least.

This thread isn't about the merits and opinions of proper speech.

If true, I can't even tell you how infuriated that makes me.

I can't argue that Croom was a success, but I can argue that he had a good resume prior to being hired. It was a heck of a lot better than being 5-19 at Iowa St.

Bottomline is this mother fricker was an awful hire, an even worse coach and an embarrasment to our university with his non existent work ethic

He was so far in over his head. All of you idiots acting like Croom did a good job forget that coaches got Croomed when they lost to him, that is how bad he was. Teams fired their coaches for losing to him.

He had a good resume if he wanted to get a job as a running back coach.

Gene Chizik had head coaching experience and won a NC.

MSU was wrong to fire the man when they did. That's a fact.

It's very true. You've got to get written consent from a parent before you can correct aave to proper English. GF is a speech pathologist. Some of their rules are just goofy.
