A) One SEC school saying anything to another about cheating is hilarious

B) Getting to Atlanta is not mediocrity- especially for a school that last won the SEC in 1941.

Insinuating that he was asked to compromise his morals but that he refused is an absolute joke. He signed a cornerback while he was in JAIL.

You care to list Miss St's SEC schedule from that year? I remember that they didn't play Florida, Tennessee, nor Georgia. They got to play 0-11 South Carolina, Vandy, and Kentucky. They lost to a Gerry Dinardo sinking ship LSU squad 48-7.

Don't let the gift from the cupcake gods SEC schedule that you had affect your memory. That State team was mediocre.

Great win against Arkansas to get to 8-3. Unfortunately, it turned a pretty good year into 8-5.

I know you are trolling, I am referring to those in the tread who are not. It is 2012 racism is non existent and to bring it up is just stupid. The guy was an awful coach, he never in 5 years recruited a QB. He had countless arrests within the program and did not run it with discipline no matter what the media leads you to believe. He himself I fully believe had an intention of running a straight program and was legitimately a good person; however, that doesn't mean he was the leader that a college program needs to transfer that morality to 85 young adults.

saying ax instead of ask

One of the best teachers and men I ever knew growing up was a black man and he said axe instead of ask. That had nothing to do with his speaking ability or education at all.

His hiring is almost identical to Obama's election. I don't dislike the guy, but I'm like, "why?" Why did we do that? I don't see the reason. Still don't, with both of them. Very likable guys. A lot of hope. A lot of preaching. A lot of putting other people down but keeping his chin up like he's better. And all of that with nothing to show for it. Why? I dunno.

bullshite.

To attack the man's natural vernacular is racist. FWIW, African American English a recognized correct manner of speech by speech pathologists and linguists. LINK

The SEC West was a joke when Sherrill was winning at State. LSU was awful, Alabama was in decline, and Arkansas was mediocre. Auburn had a few good years in the '90s but they started to go downhill the year Mississippi State won the west. Mississippi State winning the SEC West in 1998 wasn't that great of an accomplishment.

In any season, a conference is going to have it's winners and losers. Hell, in 1999 State and Bama were the only SEC teams to win 10 games.

The SEC West has never been like it is currently. We are watching the exception, not the norm right now. Stop acting like it's always been this way
