Ohio State's ranking is purely a function of how they ended last season, that's it.

Any other year their results against their schedule they'd be like #8-#10 right now.

They are to 2015 what FSU was to 2014, defending champs being given the benefit of the doubt for crummy performance.

Not much different than every other year for every other team.

If not Ohio State, then who? Who has made a strong case to move them down? There are other teams that have looked better at times, but pretty bad at others. I don't think anyone has made a strong case yet. When someone does, Ohio State will move if they continue to play like they have.

Nobody really who's name isn't Utah. I think their wins are more impressive than anybody's right now just from the eye test. They've beaten a solid Michigan team, won an in-state rivalry game, and drug Oregon all over the field by their scrotum. That's not nothing.

tOSU looks like dogshit right now but that's right now. Michigan State has blinked as well. Based upon eye test level of play, Michigan has a chance to beat both of these teams. Just as of right now.

We're just now getting into conference play and everybody here knows that's where real separation occurs and teams show their true colors. Ole Miss and Georgia have shown their true colors and they were wildly over-rated, again, and flunked, again. I'm not taking anything away from Florida either. They look solid so far and the Grier kid looks like a baller.....so far.

They def blew the Florida game hard. I just think Oklahoma went and took it from them.

Didn't see much of the Arkansas game. All I know is that's a game they need to win at home.

The Arkansas game was just a mess all around. Give Arkansas their due -- they clawed their way to a win. They earned it. But Tennessee just collapsed too. It was painful to watch the futility.

So at this point who has clearly shown they are the better team?

I think I stated it clearly in my original post that tOSU isn't playing the best in their own conference and arguably their own state. You can start there.

No TCU. TCU needed a weird bounce to beat the only good team they've faced. So one quality win with a really insane play, and struggled with poorer teams. Don't see why they would deserve to be in yet honestly.

Bama fans don't want to hear about weird bounces.

10. Alabama - Why? Two top ten games. Lost one barely, won one decisively.

Also another top 25 win by 18 points.

I don't think Wisconsin is ranked-- that's like OSU claiming the win over VT.

Great analysis. It says all I need to know. We're done here.
