What do you do? Not based on how good you think they are. Just what they've done.

1. Utah - Utah State, Oregon(at Oregon), and Michigan. That's impressive
2. Northwestern - Stanford, Minnesota, Duke. I'm cheering for them all season
3. Florida - ECU, UT, UK, Ole Miss - Top 3 win, probably 4 bowl teams here
4. Clemson - Honestly turnovers from the slick field won the game over ND
5. Texas A&M - ASU and Miss State are 2 loss teams, but good 2 loss teams.
6. Oklahoma - UT on road, WVU at home.
7. Baylor - Only one good team on resume, but they look dominate on the field
8. LSU - Win over Miss state, won others pretty easily
9. Ohio State - Only one even decent team, and losing till starting QB went out. Lot's of questions about the preseason number 1
10. Alabama - Why? Two top ten games. Lost one barely, won one decisively.

Changed because of good points by a Buckeye and one of the smart Vandy guys. Also going to punish Clemson a bit more because ND almost came back, and out gained them. And Dabo is a freaking douche.

1. Northwestern
2. Florida
3. Texas A&M
4. Utah
5. Oklahoma
6. Clemson
7. Baylor
8. LSU
9. Ohio State
10. Bama

Also another top 25 win by 18 points.

So Alabama is on the list but not the team that is 1-1 against teams on this list. Interesting. TAOM.

That's actually a good top ten based on what has actually happened on the field.

Have zero clue why you have downvotes other than ignoramuses that don't watch anything other than EESSEEECCEE.

I'd guess LSU fans..but this isn't about how good I think they actually are. Wasn't a slam on LSU at all.

A&M should be higher.

That list has Northwestern below Stanford, a team it beat solidly. Northwestern is also unbeaten.

Massey is wrong. And I don't need math to show it. Though I do love his basketball rankings. The reason I had them there is simple. The teams above them have had more impressive win(s).

Frankly, on their resume, I'd put them at around 5-8. Oregon isn't Oregon of old this year, and Michigan is...Michigan. (Yeah, I know they hammered BYU but BYU didn't deserve to be ranked.)

Michigan has posted two straight shut outs. This team is turning it around fast...you know..because they have one of the best minds in football there. I will tell you right now, Michigan should be considered the best team in the Big Ten in terms of how they are playing right now. Oregon is not good, but that beat down was epic. Even if it's not the same Oregon, that was a strong massacre. Utah State is also a pretty darn good mid major.

I get your reasoning, but the question is how their schedule compares to other top 10 schedules, not how it looks in a void. I just don't see a real elite win there.

Yea that is kind of true. Though the fact that they haven't struggled with a bad team like every other team on this list to me gives them higher poll power. They've face 3 good, solid bowl teams and they have looked good every game. I can't say the same for anyone else but Baylor on this list. Performances also mean how you beat the teams you've faced. And they have a strong schedule, and no games needing a crazy ending or close calls with bad teams.

I'll defer to you because honesty forces me to admit that my opinion is based on secondary or tertiary sources (i.e. I watch Michigan State vs Oregon for my Oregon opinion and Michigan vs Oregon State and BYU for my Michigan opinion.)

It may be that I refuse to give Michigan -- and, by extension, Utah -- any credit whatsoever because I lived there for a while and they were almost -- not quite, but almost -- as obnoxious as Ohio State fans. I got along famously with the Michigan State fans, though.

Not really. Utah has looked pretty good, but the Utah State win doesn't add much to that.
