Way late and you can't win that argument. Already have proof it doesn't have different meanings.

Tell that to the newspapers and parades that followed the Rose Bowl victories of the 20s and 30s.

A buddy of mine, that went to AU, and I make every LSU vs AU game. When I saw those trees this past year, I was disgusted. It may not be a tradition that I enjoyed getting to see first hand, but it was one that needed to be respected. Some people just don't get that no matter how much you love or pull for a team, it is still just a game. The rivalries are what make it fun. I don't know how people can be so ignorant.

Rose Bowls are not the same things as championships in the pre poll era. What kind of nonsense is that? If that were the case Cal and Wisconsin could claim about a dozen between them.

WTF? Wisconsin never even won a Rose Bowl until 1994.
Cal has won 2 total Rose Bowls, 1 was pre-poll era.
ETA: Damn it! I got sucked into this hijack. This thread is about the trees!

absolutely not, your proof is just his dog house. it's for emphasis dammit! if Uga becomes UGA then there's just gonna be hell to pay when it comes to putting it into the right context.

I don't like Auburn, but this is fricking terrible. All the people in this thread taking shots at AU and making fun of the situation are assholes. This is not funny.
The only positive AU can take away from this is they have a cool story to tell about why the trees are gone. A stupid inbred fricking Gump poisoned the damn trees so we had to cut them down. It's just another one of the many reasons to hate UA for AU.

The frick? Cal won exactly one Rose Bowl in the pre-poll era. Wisconsin never played in one.

This situation makes a lot more sense now. A fricking sidewalker from Texas. Thank you for that clarification.

Why wouldn't I? You could provide some history to support your argument instead of just sitting back and shaking your head.
The Rose Bowl attempted to host the best team from the West and the best team from the East each year. The winner of that game was widely regarded as football's "National Champions". The 1930 newspaper I just posted shows as much.

I'm at work and am interested how much progress they have made

nah Ill just sit back and laugh. Your information backing your belief is lacking some points. I have noted it on here in the past and it has been talked about over and over. Like I said, if you want to claim them, claim them. Just try not to distort the reasoning as to why
Good grief. You looking forward to your 13th birthday?
