We're going to have to put up pads on every bridge in Baton Rouge like bowling alley gutter guards to keep you LSU fans from jumping when Herman blows you off for greener pastures.

You're right, LSU has been an utter failure across the board when it comes to athletics over the past 2-3 decades. Specifically football, the recruiting ground in state is terrible, the university would never pay a coach market value, no SEC titles, haven't sniffed a national title in 50 years, etc. What an atrocity.

Noone is saying LSU isnt making calls, just dont think you are the only school with money.

Houston already said theyre prepared to do what it takes to keep Tom for many years to come.

I haven't said once in this thread that LSU would land Herman, I haven't even typed his name until now. Let's face it, no one knows at all where he'll be next year. I personally see him at Houston for quite a while. But for some coming here to say LSU can't or won't hire a top tier coach, well that's just laughable trolls trying to be funny. That's my only point.

Les is gone, I'd love Herman but I don't see it happening. LSU will get a top tier coach that has a pulse. And that coach will take over a team loaded with talent, no one can dispute that.

You were two years removed from 1/2 a NC when you hired Les Miles from OSU who had a very mediocre record as a HC at the time.

Saban had a very average record at Michigan State when he was hired to replace Dinardo who was believed to have taken Vandy to the best they could ever hope for.

In Saban and Miles case, their successor to the program they left to a level higher than either one was capable while there.

So year, I'm the dumbass because I don't believe that LSU is going to put a sign up in the front yard saying "help wanted" and every top coach in the country is going to line up and beg for just an interview.

Miles and Saban accounted for how many SEC titles and how many national championships for LSU?

So it seems his natural interest would favor the USC and Texas jobs

These guys are high level whores. You throw enough cash their way and they will follow like a dog in heat.

What does that have to do with anything I've said?

If I'm a dumbass and wrong, you should easily be able to show that Saban and Miles did not have mediocre records as HC and were in fact the hot name at the time of the high just like Herman is the hot name now.

Saban won 1/2 a MNC and the SEC within two years of LSU hiring Miles. It will have been 6 years since those same accomplishments this time and you somehow think LSU is more desirable now than then...

I like how the fans on here act like Houston is just going to roll over and show their belly when another team makes an offer to their HC.

Yes to Texas; No to USC

The biggest draw that LSU possesses is the fact it locks up its state recruiting every year that has incredible talent AND he will be in close vicinity to the Houston area recruiting grounds that he is already dominating at UH.

Location is key. He wouldn't be dumb for accepting the highest paid coaching position in the nation that fields the most alumni for a given school in the NFL.

We've seen what he can do against Saban's defense with a third string QB. He has unlimited potential at LSU

Ferentz has had NFL offers. He wouldn't leave Iowa for LSU, no matter the dollar amount.

You really struggle at the whole reading comprehension thing.

You need to work on that.
