LSU has a slightly better history, but the AD could give two fricks about basketball right now.

Mizzou wants to win, will do what it takes to win and will pay.

You can argue what is the "better job" but we will certainly hire the better coach for the reasons listed above.

Not to mention the talent that has gone through the LSU program.

LSU won't pay for a basketball coach? That's why Jones makes more than Kim Anderson? Our fricking women's coach makes a million a year. Louisiana might be broke but the AD isn't.

We haven't made "a" final four. We've made 4 of them. More elite eights than Mizzou. More sweet sixteens than Mizzou.

If you guys are such a great coaching spot with great history...

How did you end up with Johnny Jones & lose so much in general?

Never said they are or are not the best in their own city. But from a basketball stand point, X is above LSU.

Because he was a former player so Dale Brown pushed for him

Ninja, please. I like to troll LSU fans as much as the next guy on here but it's debatable if Xavier is even the best job in their own city.

If you don't think Xavier is a better job than LSU, you are crazy. I could buy it when they were in the A10, but now tha they are in the Big East they clearly are the better job. Being #2 in the city says more about Cincinnati area basketball than Xavier's program

For Reference - Past 30 Years
Xavier
23 NCAAT Appearances
20+ W seasons - 26

LSU
Winning Record Seasons - 19
14 NCAAT Appearances

Word coming out is that we will be looking to pay between 2 and 2.5 for the next coach

Lawd, you dumb but I'll play along. Like just stated, Dale Brown and Collis Temple pushed hard for Johnny Jones and they got their man. Both still have a lot of push with the LSU's basketball program, but that ain't happening this time around because they used their one trump card given and blew it.

How did Bama end up with Dubose and Shula?

How did Notre Dame end up with Charlie Weiss?

How did Texas end up with Charlie Strong?

How did North Carolina basketball end up with Matt Doherty?

How did Duke end up with Neill McGeachy?

That's a good point.

LSU basketball = Alabama football = Notre Dame football = Texas football = UNC basketball = Duke basketball.

That kind of money is only going to get a mid major coach who looking for a stepping stone position.

Mizzou fans need to stop thinking the LSU job is not a good one, because it is. Much better gig then Mizzou. Problem is, Alleva needs to stop allowing Dale Brown and Mr. Temple dictate who should be the coach. Alleva needs to sack up and get his guy and stop being Temple and Brown's puppet when it comes to the basketball program.

Last time I checked, LSU has Top 50 players of all time and multiple trips to the Final 4. Mizzou has, well...I got nothing.
