Everything you said...x1

SP made his befricked bed the whole time he was High Poobah of Upper Butt-Crack in Gainesville.
He was an a-hole with a capital A, and I cant just forget all the shite he talked back then because he's been mired in mediocrity since his failed stint in the NFL.

I said this years ago, why would a man with such skill and accolades INSIST on ruining his public persona? He couldve been Bear Bryant pt. 2 if he couldve just kept his mouth shut. Someone called him a sore loser in this thread, and he was that, but worse (the worst) he was a sore winner. His "fun n gun" offense changed the way defense is played in the SEC probably forever. He couldve been remembered as a god if he wasnt such a cocky redneck a-hole.

Yet, he feels he has a legacy to protect...proof of his rediculous level of conceit.

No matter what he said in his presser yesterday or in future re: why he resigned, the real reason is he was NOT gonna let his legacy end with the worst SC record in his tenure. He's been kicking himself for not jumping ship after last year.

I'm happy as hell (and always have been) that he never got the LSU job. In 1997, I didnt care we beat UF, I was glad we RUINED Spurrier's season.

And for everyone that says, "Oh, thats just HBC being HBC" - yall are probably the ones that cry at funerals when the deceased was a well-known a-hole.

Question...would Steve be doing this if they were undefeated ? Right or wrong, it makes him look like a quitter.

This is not about what's best for South Carolinas shitty program, which will completely disappear to the bottom of the east forever. It's about how Spurrier decided to end his career. Just like a bitch, like I always knew he was. Glad he cemented that fact for everyone else to see. No excuse to quit mid season on your team and kids. It's best for the program? Really? What? Now they might win 2 out of 5 to finish the year instead of 0-5? O boy!!!! Or maybe the new coach can get a head start on recruiting. What a joke.

Yep. That presser was filled with as much bs as his July week after media day presser. Takes a ton naivity to eat it a all up as the cocks have. You think they would have learned after the first load when he said sc would be good this year.

Put yourself in USC's AD Ray Tanner's shoes. He was in an extremely difficult position. Yes the fans are/were grumbling, but how in the world are you going to fire a Hall of Fame coach like the "HBC"? You can't. Not without drawing the ire of the interwebz, social media and talk radio.

So by Spurrier stepping down the way he did, the narrative becomes about Spurrier and not something else (like "How could Ray Tanner fire Spurrier?!?). To give you an idea of how respected and like SOS is to Ray, Ray almost broke down and cried 3 times in the press conference yesterday. Regardless of how people feel about it, or the right and the wrong of how it played out, it was the best thing for the program.

You are totally and completely missing the boat.

Ray Tanner "wanted" Spurrier to stay until the end of the year. Spurrier "chose" to quit mid-season.

This is about Spurrier "choosing" to quit mid-season rather than finishing the year out. It's not about Tanner being in a difficult situation.

Yeah he is quitting.

Don't you understand that??

Do you not understand he QUIT on the team he signed up to coach for the 2015-16 season?
His team was getting their arse handed to them and he didn't like it so he quit.
Do you understand that?
