First and foremost not trying to feed the troll but know that's exactly what I am doing.

How can you honestly blast a man for leaving seeing the writing on the wall. The same man who helped put the SEC on the map post Bear. I know there were others but the influx of interest in the SEC was due to Spurrier's UF teams. Not only that but a guy who made SEC Media Days the circus that they are, some of you need to get over your obvious butthurt over his UF days, while he was at South Carolina he was actually very humble. His one-liners while in Columbia were obviously just that and had no angst. Every coach in the SEC has come out and said the same thing.

The man realized he overstayed his time here in SC. His players hold no grudge, so neither should you. With all of this said all the haters can just go eat a dick and STFU.

Coach will always be a GatorCock to me. I have too many memories of him recruiting guys at my HC and meeting him in the lockerroom.

Question for you, how would you feel if the kids on your team all quit on Wednesday with him?

I dont hate the man, far from it actually. He was a great coach and I loved his blunt persona. With that said, I hate how he chose go out because quitting is what losers do and it sets a poor example for the young men he was supposed to lead. Those kids deserved better.

I don't think anyone that is 70 years old and hangs it up is a loser.

Did you listen to his interview?

To be honest i would be concerned about the future of America if they did, but we aren't talkingabout a bunch of 18-22 year olds. We are talking about a 70 year old FIXTURE in the SEC since 1990 and dating back to his playing days.

It's a small percentage of people on a small message board. But they're ignorance comes across so loud. Not even sure if these people are serious.

If he was going to script it, I doubt he would choose to leave this way. However, when you are done and know it, are you doing any good by hanging around?

In listening to his presser, it sounded like he just doesn't have the energy or interest level required to recruit and he knows the talent level required to compete successfully in this league. If that is the case, then he is doing a program a favor to step aside now.

Not the best life lesson to teach young men, but probably best for the program.

He bragged about how he had the body of a 55 year old just a few months ago, and he was angry at anyone who suggested this year could be his last. Quitting without the excuse of sickness is cowardly.

Yes, I heard his interview, and he could have still said nearly all of it while finishing the season he started, which is what the honorable action would have been.

No he said he FELT like he was 55, and now we all saw that was a facade (blind or hiding the truth to all of you rantards) for the truth, that he was tired.

So It's commendable for the multimillionaire to quit because he can't stand losing, but it wouldnt be right for the unpaid kids to do the exact same thing? Such a double standard.

I really don't understand the "cowardly" angle. Dude flat out said he sucks now and can't get it done. He didn't avoid responsibility by blaming health, family, or whatever else.

Really grasping at straws looking for a reason to take one last shot at the hbc, imo.

If SC was 6-0 do you think he would quit? That's where the coward shite come from. He didn't like losing like he was. Getting embarrassed.

He quit in the middle of the season. I only remember one other coach doing that and that was Tiny Terry Bowden.

Spurrier was my favorite, but he should have coached the rest of the season.

There is no doubt he was a fierce competitor by looking at his career, maybe he was just to the point where enough was enough. I can't fault him for that at his age. He gave USCe some if the best years in their history. He deserves to go out how ever he wants. At least he didn't fake a heart attack because he was scared of the competition.

Look it up. It's in the dictionary, and it fits this situation to a T, so it's far from grasping at straws. Basically, Cowards quit when the goings get tough. He hates losing so bad he can't deal with it. It's that simple.

Losing ain't easy. Some handle it with class, others quit.
