I don't see the comparison he didn't leave you guys for us. I have never understood the issues the LSU fanbase has with Saban over this.
But you can see why we don't particularly like him....yes?
I mean, of ALL the teams he could come back to...after failing in the NFL.....Bama was the ONE school you wouldn't want.
I preferred you guys sucking

Personally, I think Franchonie and Mike Price should be inducted into the Alabama Football HOF...

yes. really should be no debate at all, its not like saban hates LSU and says negative shite about LSU even being in the same division. I think it will be a while after he is done coaching before it happens but time heals all wounds.
had we won 1/9 it would be an even easier yes and probably happened quicker

It has everything to do with us. Had he went to any other Blue Blood program in the nation it wouldn't have bothered you guys nearly as much.

Is Saban's name on a plaque at Tiger Stadium's Moran Championship plaza?

Keep telling yourself that.
LSU's Athletic Department will decide who and when they induct into their own HOF. The University of Alabama's Athletic Department will have no say in the admittance of Nick Saban into LSU's HOF.

I think USC (hypothetically) would have been harder for LSU fans during that time. At least initially.

Should he be? Absolutely. Will he be? Who knows.
It's like Kentucky Basketball fans saying that Rick Pitino shouldn't be inducted in the the UK Athletics HOF. Just because fans don't like him doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve it.

I'd argue that at LSU, Les has been better. If you look at overall career, then Saban is more accomplished.
It just depends on if your definition of "greatest coach to coach at LSU." Is it the coach that did the most at LSU or is it the most successful coach as a whole that spent time at LSU (regardless of where his success came from).

Miles 05-12 > Saban 00-04
Outside of the NC year, his seasons were pretty meh by today's standards. He can thank Mauck for the upset of the year in the 01 SECCG.
Saban's ten times the coach now than when he was at LSU

I doubt this will ever happen. He was only here 5 years. To me, Hall of Fame is something for someone that devotes the prime of their career to a school. I also think that a sizable contingent of fans would be pissed because they just don't like him. He only coached there five years and had 2 season of 10+ wins (NC season and Illinois sugar bowl win). He will be the guy that is remembered for giving us the spark back to life, but Miles' accomplishments and a lot of dislike will overshadow it and keep him from getting in.
P.S. I would vote no

Nope...if you consider the total package (dedication, character, trust, etc. all examples of what a coach should bring to his job), Saban couldn't hold a candle to Miles. Let Bama worship him since winning is the only criteria they care for! Erecting a statue to the man while he is still their coach! Give me a break!

I would agree to put Saban in the LSU HOF. While he didn't have the win/loss success Les has had at LSU, Saban built the program to what it is today. The program was in a a state of inconsistency and mediocrity for the most part in the 90's and I will be forever grateful for what Saban did in his time at LSU. He may have left LSU in a cavalier way, but the foundation that was passed on to Les Miles was very strong.

Because the program when they both arrived was on equal footing.

You're fooling yourself if you ever think Saban is getting into any LSU Hall of Fame. And it has everything to do with Bama. Not that we're jilted (that emotion has passed Bama2010, you newbie POS). It's because he's the Bama coach. That's all that matters in the hearts and minds of Tigers.
And Spurrier's different because he won the Heisman trophy at Florida. He was a legend there well before he coached there.
