Rolando McClain was a personal favorite of mine, but the answer to the question is Derrick Thomas.

That. I can't think of anyone that would equal D. Thomas. That guy was a once in a generation or 2 special. That's not taking away from T. Williams in any way either.

That's exactly why I listed Eric Curry. To skip past Curry and go to Thomas is saying that Williams is better than Curry, which I'm not sure is true. And frankly, Thomas is in his own category and nobody before or since compares to him.

Keith McCants is one that's not getting many mentions, but he was a helluva player too, in college anyway.

I know hisbust of an NFL "career" and subsequent drug related aarrests taint his legacy.

Back on point though, DT is definitely in a league of his own. Hell, he was in a league of his own in the NFL. He would take over games and disrupt NFL offenses the way we are talking about these other guys doing in college.

Curry is a good one, but for most people it's hard to mention either Curry or Copeland individually. They are always grouped together.

DT could take over a game in a similar way. He was like Williams and he hit like Foster. He takes over the game around the 17 minute mark.

at the end of the game I remember the announcer saying, "Derrick Thomas and somebody from Penn State will be named the players of the game." By the end of the game, they just started calling him,"You know who is there to disrupt the offense."

Get an OL on skates or just off balance and you've got him. TW unreal at getting an OL moving the direction he wants him to. It's damn near every single play. It's amazing. When he isn't crushing a QB, he's making him move and throw from a crazy angle. Just isn't fair.

Keith mcCants was badass and he wrecked shite on Aubie in the most hesrtbresking Bama loss ever, the 1989 first game at Jordan-Hare with Bama #2 or #3 Iron Bowl. Bama was undefested and Auburn was like 7-2 but played like a top 3 team that day and Bama just couldn't keep up.

I remember that game. I was in middle school. 8th grade I think. I also remember my Papaw saying, after the game, that AU would have beaten any team in the country that day. So much emotion because the game was at JHS and it wasn't like AU was a terrible team to begin with.

Yeah, it's like I posted earlier, it's to the point now that whenever TW is in the game, I focus on him from the snap until the whistle.

I feel the need to add Biscuit in this conversation. I do feel like DT was a more complete player but Cornelius Bennett was a badass as well.

Do they let him take his gun on the field, or can he only brandish it in the locker room with a splif dangling from his teeth?

I agree Collins was a hell of a defensive back. But he will always be remembered as the guy who got trucked in the Sugar Bowl a couple of years ago.

No doubt. I mentioned him earlier too.

Tough to decide when there have been so many great players roll through Tuscaloosa. But that's our burden to bear.
