So the REC found the receipt and permit? Well that's just so good for them to be so helpful. I don't know if I've ever seen an organization so concerned and sympathetic to so many young men. It brings a tear to my eye. For real. May God bless those honorable men.

What you don't get is that even if he does not have a permit, this is a very low level offense in Alabama.
Joe off the street will often see it dismissed with nothing more that court costs paid or prosecution deferred and dismissed completely if he stays out of trouble. At worst he'll pay a small (as in a few hundred dollars) fine.
You should quit trying to make it more than it is because you're the only one looking bad.

Tim will pay a minimal fine, and he will probably have to go through some kind of fire arm safety education class and maybe some community service hours for Coach Saban and that's all that will come of this.

Which is exactly the punushment he should recieve. Not arguing for a stricter punishment. Just trying to point out that he indeed broke the law. I'm sure davon broke the law as well, and he should also be in trouble.

more people are killed by speeders than non-felon gun owners so I fail to see the validity of your statement.
