Palmerio was in my Spanish 101 class. He could have taught the class and owned the prof when speaking the language He didn't show up for class much but he was probably bored as shite in 1st grade Spanish learning to count and shite.

I had forgotten Will Clark was a New Orleans kid.
Another "New Orleans kid" that had a major impact on college baseball was Rod Dedeaux.
From Wiki:
Dedeaux was the head baseball coach at the University of Southern California (USC) for 45 seasons. During this tenure, Dedeaux's teams won 11 national titles, including an unprecedented five straight titles from 1970–74, and 28 conference championships. He was named Coach of the Year six times by the Collegiate Baseball Coaches Association and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 1970. He was named "Coach of the Century" by Collegiate Baseball magazine. In 2006, Dedeaux was one of the 10 initial inductees to the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ron Polk and State were good back than, LSU had JUST hired Skip, but they were a few years away.
Guess in the 1980s, Miami was the place to go to hire up and coming college baseball coaches.

I didnt watch the whole documentary but parts of it were hard to watch. They would bring up a topic and just have 10 people repeat it over and over. They brought up the nickname
Camera to Palmeiro: Thunder and lightning
Camera to ClarK: Thunder and lightning
brantley: thunder and lightning
thigpen: thunder and lightning
polk: thunder and lightning
random old guy: thunder and lightning
random old guy 2: thunder and lightning
reporter guy: thunder and lightning
Next topic: Left field lounge!
Brantley: What is the left field lounge? hehe
Palmeiro: The left field lounge? hehe
Clark: The left field lounge...
etc, etc,

That swing
I watched the LA allstar game when he was a senior and Clark got whiffed on 3 pitches by some kid from Eunice that ended up at McNeese. Cant remember his name but he was killer on the mound.

But, damn Will Clark strikes me as an a-hole.
He wasn't the one pointing his finger at the House Committee claiming...I have never used steroids with Ms Lewinsky,...Period.

Ron Polk and State were great back than, LSU hired Skip after the '83 season when P&C were already at State. Skip had LSU in a regional(when there were far fewer teams) in his second season; 1985. First CWS the following year with Joey Belle hitting some of the longest homeruns ever at Rosenblatt.

I enjoyed it, saw my dad in the stands at the astrodome when Will hit the homer off of Ryan.

Loved Will's swing. Why do so many left handed swings look better than righty's?

watched the repeat of this last night and thought it was pretty good
lol at Palmiero's B12 defense, give me a break dude.
Would love to see one on 80s/90s Gorilla Ball and the fall out. Would be great to see those Oklahoma State and LSU teams and hear the past greats talk about them

As a braves fan I fricking hated will clark when he was with the giants. Dude was a baller.
Posted on 5/11/15 at 8:55 am to Pavoloco83
as a Braves fan you should know that Will Clark's Giants teams didn't really matter much to the Braves because prior to 91 the Braves sucked anyway
