Watching the "SEC Storied" now. I had forgotten Will Clark was a New Orleans kid. Did LSU recruit him heavily? And what swayed him to MSU?

What do their levels of education have to do with anything?

state was the only team in 1983 that gave a damn about baseball LSU hadn't even hired Bertman.

UNO was the Louisiana power. They made the CWS in 84.

Ok, wasn't sure where LSU was in its baseball trajectory then.

Clark would have stayed in state but the coach before Bertman was a jerk who rubbed him the wrong way in recruiting. When Polk came along, it was easy pickings.

Clark didn't use steroids. At least not any more than any other "clean" players. I'm a firm believers there's only a handful of MLB players since 1990 that haven't used steroids at some point in their career.

Ron Polk and State were good back than, LSU had JUST hired Skip, but they were a few years away.

Everyone in baseball uses PED's. Most are careful enough to not get caught, the ones aging who have to get risky are generally the ones caught. All about getting out at the right time IMO.

Have a good friend that played in the 80's. He's told me that there weren't any players from the 79s and 80s that didn't use PEDs. Not so much steroids as uppers and the such.

It's one of those things that you do or you don't keep up. Even with quick twitch muscle movements and hand eye coordination, it makes a difference.
