I personally thought the playoffs were a big hit this year. When they announced the final four I didn't love the fact that Ohio State got in over TCU/Baylor, but they proved they belonged so good decision by the committee. I felt like FSU was in over their head, but they had won 29 straight games so they pretty much had to get in if they ran the table. At the end of the day I felt the playoffs were a success for year one, I am still hoping they eventually expand to eight teams, but for right now I am very satisfied and excited for next season.

I think 8 would be the perfect number, but 4 is much better than 16.

I think a 4 team playoff is perfect for college football. The committee got it right on the 4 teams chosen. I am satisfied with the system as long as we have competent, rational people sitting on the committee as we did this time. Although I would not be against just taking the top 4 from the BCS rankings.

I have a feeling that for the next few years the playoff will just be the yearly "Oregon gets exposed as a finesse flag football gimmick team despite the incredible hype" event.

I don't think anyone will think it wasn't a success.
And yes, it will go to 8, in a few years, maybe 10 years .

The only tweak to it could be semi finals on campus.

I think 4 is just fine. The 4 most deserving teams were in it. TCU and/or Baylor not making it in is something the Big 12 needs to address with a conference championship game. What I don't like is having a committee choose the final 4. I would have preferred to continue using the BCS poll to assign the rankings.

Meh. I can live with 4 teams. Any more than that devalues the regular season too much.

4 is perfect. 8 and 16 will allow too many undeserving teams in. Better one semi deserving team get left out than 1 borderline and 3 undeserving teams let in. I can see most peoples argument for 8 though because the ones arguing for 8 or 16 haven't been in the top four for a long while and this will be their only way to the title game.

I don't think you will get semis on campus, but an 8 team playoff with the 1st round on campus would be epic. I think we will get there one day.

Seriously???.....I will say I'd rather choose the 4 teams based on the BCS formula. That way we know how the score is being kept. At times this year I think people, including fans, media, and coaches, didn't know WTF the committee was doing.

I think it was good but I'm concerned about it over the next few years. Really don't like that the semis won't be on New Year's Day next year.

Hmmm didn't know that....I guess even the playoff system doesn't have the clout to push the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl off Jan.1 huh?....sure as hell didn't have a problem doing it to the Orange and Fiesta

After the ratings the two games received on NYD this year, you'd think ESPN would say to the Rose Bowl Committee "Well, I guess we won't include you in the playoff then. Enjoy your game."

The way CFB has bent over for the Rose Bowl over the years is embarrassing.

Without a doubt.

I liked it a good deal more than I thought. Also, it was a great year to have 4 teams in. In the past I didn't think there were 3/4 teams that were a cut above. If TCU had taken fsu place it would have been perfect

Seeing Bama get it's arse kicked was a nice touch.

I need no further proof that this system is better than the BCS than the 4 seed winning it all. Great way to do the championship game.
