8 teams is too many. 4 is perfect.

Next year will be interesting with all the semis being played on New Year's Eve instead of New Year's Day. Wonder if they'll have the same viewership?

It was outstanding. I still say it needs to go to 6 or 8 teams to be perfect in my book, but damn that was exciting.

College football and NASCAR outdid themselves this past sporting year with their new playoff formats

I would still like to see the P5 champs get in. A play in game before christmas perhaps.

Committee got it right. TCU probably should have been in over FSU. Alabama too now that we know the SEC was a pretender this season.

I still think the committee is a horrible idea, but I'm now on board with the 4 team playoff. However, The question every year is going to be who go shafted, and that is going to lead to expansion of the playoffs.

TCU was good enough to beat any of the 4 teams this year, and almost every year there is going to be a team like them that gets left out.

Playoffs were great. Very entertaining games. tOSU, as much as I dislike them, deserves their championship this season.

I think an 8 game format would be ideal. Hopefully that's on the horizon soon.

TCU clearly got the shaft, but can you say 3 other teams were deserving enough to make the cut? Pre-bowls an argument could have been made for Baylor, but other than that, there wasn't really anyone else. So going to 8 will just dilute it, IMO. Most years it is going to be clear who the top 4 are, just like most years of the BCS it was clear who the top 2 were.

6 gets you five p5 Champs and the "best of the rest" plus a reward for the top 2 with byes, keeping the taliking points interesting and the regular season important.

It'd be perfect imo, so it's never going to happen.

This season is great, but we'll have a playoff that is too big and bloated within a decade.

Yeah the P5 Champs would be a good move, but the Big 12 would need to expand and add a championship game for that to happen, IMO.

I like it at 4, but wouldn't hate it going to 6 with the "play-in" games being played at home stadiums a week after the conference champ games.

Having it go to 8 would be pointless. Nobody beyond the Top 6 this year deserved to play for a title. We can't completely dismiss the regular season. Also, logisitically, CFB would end up competing with the NFL playoffs and IMO, that would be bad for the game.

I think 6 or 8 teams would be better. Would have like to see TCU and Baylor in that mix.

Looking at teams that were left out in the past (#3 2003 USC, #3 2004 Auburn, etc) 4 is the perfect number for playoffs.

8 teams will be terrible. It'll devalue regular season games and add undeserving team. For example, #7 Mississipi State don't deserve to be there.

I'd like to see it expand to 8 teams.

I think it was awesome. The title game was played by the two playoffs teams that wouldn't have made the game in the BCS era. Oh and the Big 12 was fricked over. The system works. I couldn't be happier.

I think it would be really cool. I imagine it would be an awesome atmosphere if we had to play in Columbus during the winter.

It goes back to the point that fans could eventually decided to skip the semifinal games so they could hold out for the championship game. There's only so much money a fanbase can drop when you include the conference championship games. I don't blame any FSU fan that didn't attend the Rose Bowl.

Once it moves to 6 or 8 it'll be perfect

i loved it, every big conference should still have a conf championship game. that, to me is total bullshite. it backfired on the big12 this year but it could be beneficial for them in the future to get a team sneak into the top 4 without having to play an extra game

They'll either expand or they'll try to get an exception for a 10 team league championship game
