LSU's UREC is woefully behind just about all, if not all, of the schools in the conference. Glad they're finally getting it up to par.

...relax my Ag brother, it was an April Fools joke a few years back that some very unintelligent people actually took seriously.

lulz

okay

Well, in the meantime, the topic arose this morning while I was on the phone with a client I am consulting with on a project in the Midwest. I'm sort of semi-retired but this project was worth getting-in-on because it is football related and I'll make a little spending money plus I'll get to see some things from the inside, over time.

And during this conversation, where funding was mentioned, the subject came-up about the design team being involved in this pool project in Baton Rouge to which he took a crack at me about the SEC not being fiscally responsible and LSU, yada yada.

He was, being a Michigan man, just pushing my buttons but I had no idea so I had no retort.

When we hung-up I googled it and, sure enough .... there was the story.

So I brought it up hoping to be educated on the subject so that if the subject is broached when I make my trip up there I'll have a suitable comeback prepared.

You should've laughed at him for Miles turning down his Alma Mater multiple times to stay in the SEC

It's grand-standing and politicking, that's all it is. Louisiana's constitution prevents the legislature from being able to cut anything besides health care and education, and our governor sold himself to Grover Norquist. Oil is cheap(and we don't get the royalties we deserve anyway), and no one here is going to raise taxes, so they slash what they can.

LSU is not going bankrupt.

i would imagine people would just float around in it and get some sun. There are other parts of the pool for swimming laps and stuff.

Actually Lousiana does better on that than most states. You have to look to a European or Canadian model to say you aren't getting a fair share.

Part of the problem is the system for calculating royalties in Louisiana is a pain (surprise surprise) so that pushes people to do more stuff offshore where the economics are more stable and predictable.

Yeah, chicks usually dig a lazy river. The one at my old apartment complex got me way more dates than a bar.

First, news of LSU going Bankrupt.

Now there is news of an 84 million dollar lazy river, lulz.

With Chavis gone, what's next? Lazy LSU Defense?
